dieter 3,325 Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 He was reported as looking distressed in a recent Training post. Has his injury - whatever it is - flown under the radar?
Deemania since 56 6,805 Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 Let's give him some space, guys...

Dee Zephyr 19,311 Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 He's fun this kid, such a quirky character. Tagged himself in the photo above as the Egyptian Canola Man. A track watcher did report on the training thread he overheard during the week at training the words back and serious, let's hope not.
Lucifers Hero 40,715 Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 Hunt missed a year from mid 2014 with a serious back injury. Let's hope it isn't the same/related (if he is injured). On the positive side our club and doctors have successfully treated him and (Hogan) for serious back injuries and know how to look after them. If he is at training this week we know he is ok. Even if he isn't, it may not be serious - just precautionary rest till the new year. Let's wait till we hear something one way or the other.

M_9 2,216 Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 JH is training but is on a modified program (to manage his back). Certainly nothing serious. I gather is just precautionary rather than as a result of any mishap.
pitmaster 3,592 Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 He was training last Friday. I didn't notice he was hampered in any way but I also didn't know he was supposed to be carrying anything so maybe I didn't look closely enough. For the casual observer, he was fine.

It then becomes a matter of managing them to prevent flare-ups rather than fixing them entirely. This means putting a lot of work into the core to provide extra support around the site of the injury and occasionally backing off to let it settle down when it shows signs of being a problem. As long as they are monitoring it and managing his loads it should be ok.
nosoupforme 3,085 Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 I cringe when thinking of Hunt missing a game or any game in fact . Love the way he plays and breaks the lines. Potential All Australian very soon. Go Boy!
Port Demons 134 Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 I see one of the therapists who are contracted to the Dees (i've had multiple spinal operations and also require ongoing management) We always have a gasbag about the players, their aches and pains and some funny tales. Anyway, Hunt was in getting treated for general work around the hips and glutes etc and only mentioned literally at the very end of the treatment that he had a sore back. So the session was extended and the treatment took a different direction with some work on his back. With due respect to not advising the therapist, He/She didn't think it's a worrying sign, just a management thing.
Ethan Tremblay 31,388 Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 I’ve never respected client/patient confidentially anyway. Thanks Port D!
deebug 1,754 Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 Good rest over Christmas break should help him, that and a few good gifts from Santa
