You keep alluding to "something else" going on and for people to lower their eyes as if you're in the know about something. Either front up and say what you mean or stop spinning conspiracy theories while hiding behind a veil of vagueness.

Good Dr. I know what i know..and there's what im told. There's also what im prepared to deduce and surmise.

Im not prepared to breach confidences nor betray those that might impart.

What i am saying is straight forward. As often the case things are not what they may seem. Football clubs lie. Its the first language of this sport.

The many are being sold a story. One that fits a particular narrative but its validity falls apart upon furtive inspection.

About 75-90% of what i understand to be the case has quite amazingly been spelt out in this very thread, just not by one poster in one post.

As ive suggested before ill suggest again. Forget Jack per se but look to the club, the one spinning this garbage and look at timelines. Look at personnel, look at where elements of the narrative start, stop, or change.

There are others , both here on these very boards as well as just out in footy land who either know many elements, but possibly not the whole picture.

I don't know the whole picture. Ive a fair idea of the artist, the muse and the gallery.

I dont care whether you believe me. I don't care whether you can or indeed be bothered to look/ think further.

I do care that club's successful.

I'll finish by saying that im abou %99 sure Jack's departure is both predetermined and a part of a course of action, and it just hasn't happened as a result of some 'misunderstandings"

If we pick up two picks for Jack, we have managed a better deal than Lever on this one.........

Stupid post the above.  I couldn't care if he was no 1 or number 100.  He is amongst our best 10 players.  Bottom line.  And we are giving him away.  None of this is complicated.

Top 10? Hahaha gold! now i've heard it all.

Jones, Viney, Hibberd, Hogan, Oliver, Lewis, Jetta, Gawn, Petracca, Hunt and Garlett. Would love to know your top 10!

But imagine this forum if Watts stayed.  The detailed criticism he'd be subjected to every week would make these 204 pages look like a mere blip.

That’s what has been happening since he has been at our club Sue.

I have never seen one player under so much scrutiny and it’s absolutely disgusting.

Also trading jack is a bad enough decision but if we pay part of his wage too then that just shows how desperate and pathetic  the club is to get rid of him.

This whole saga makes us look like a bunch of amateurs.

Where did this rumour about us paying part of Watts salary if traded come from? I can only seem to find it here, has that actually been reported or is it just a run away rumour being perpetuated by a bunch of chicken littles on DL?

Great to see you're taking the Pol Pot ground zero approach in wanting to remove all history of Jack Watts from the MFC. Did he nick your gf SFebey? You're overly damning on him and relentlessly so.

Jesus mate, it was clearly a joke and a bit of fun, as have been most of my posts today. And yes, I cant wait to get rid of him and start being a serious footy club again, top bloke but I'm sick of him being a pee heart. Some of you are too emotional over Jacky boy. I don't have a GF, just the neighbours goat does me.

Debating whether Watts is top 10 or 20 or x seems pretty irrelevant to me.  The only question is does he have a place in the full squad.  My view is that based on performance  he does despite his faults - look at the roles he played early in the season gaining lots of B&F votes despite his 'pea-heart' etc..  But there may be sufficient off-field issues that as a mere spectator I am unaware of.

what are you smoking. if you ask any other teamsupporters who are they more scared of when they play us do you think its jack watts. for me, i wouldnt even have him in my top 25 because i think his physical work is just so bad that it trumps anything positive that be brings to the table.

pedo who has probably had about 5% of the opportunity of watts has outperformed him already. i agree that hogan has a lot of weaknesses that he needs to work on but he can kick bags of goals which watts never can.

Such a sad video posted of a young fan who loves Jack Watts asking him to stay and that he wear number 4. He thinks Jack is the best kick in the team. Jack's reply is that MFC don't value kicking and that the lad may need a new jumper next year, it clearly isn't in jacks hands and he is being pushed. I know at clinics lots of kids wear number 1, 11 and 4 so I can picyure lots of sad kids

And that’s why you don’t and should not post. It was about inconsistency being accepted. If we dismissed players for inconsistency, then a lot more players would be traded.

It was about the way it has been handled. Most agree it is very poor.  Watts has been dismissed and whilst I don’t agree with his latest post, it was probably due to frustration and hard to argue with that.

I don’t agree with the way MFC have managed departures like Woewodin, Spalding, Green & James McDonald. All loyal until they were discarded like yesterday’s newspaper.

Every club has these issues when it comes to planning for the future and list management. Just off the top of my head North discarded Harvey and Petrie last year, Hawks Mitchell and Lewis. Happens at every club, so stop using it as excuse to sink the boot in to the club.

I am actually getting sick of this.

I happen to really like Jack and hoped he would stay.

I would still be happy if he did.

I along with Whispering Jack was at Southport Footy ground some 8 or so years ago, where Jack was playing in a practice match.

The crowd was giving it to Jack as a high draft pick and I was screaming out encouragement to Jack from my position at the interchange area on the fence and was baiting the crowd all game. Every kick or handball that Jack had I turned around to the crowd and baited them about how good he was.

Jack couldn't help but notice, as I screamed at him every time he came off, that he was killing them and they didn't like it and he was thrilled with the support and came over to us as soon as the game ended and chatted. That was the first of many chats I have had with Jack over the years. He became one of my favourite Demons. On a fan day like Luna Park, I always made a beeline for Jack with my grand daughter to spend a few minutes with him. He has always remembered me and been happy to chat.

I have supported him when other Dees fans have attacked him and wanted him gone over the years.

I still support him.

However I support the MFC more than Jack.

As a result of a decision made by the FD, not me, I have reluctantly accepted that Jack is probably leaving.

I acknowledge there is probably not much I can do about that decision.

I am trying to support the FD of my club and the club.

I think I have been reasonable in my comments towards Jack.

I put up a list of players that the FD would probably value more than Jack, obviously correct since they are not being offered elsewhere and didn't include future players like Weid and made no other comment.

You can disagree with that list if you wish to.

However, I have never shown dislike of Jack.

I will not boo him at his next club and in fact wish him well, unlike number 9 of GWS.

I think you owe me an apology.

PS. I note you are knocking other MFC players on that list. Interesting.

They tried: nobody was half interested after DDiligentia.

Exactly does noone remember what happened last time Martin was out of contract? Wasn't happy with Richmond's offer, shopped himself around effectively walking out on the club and found the wider footy world didn't see him as being worth as much as he thought. Came back to the Tigers with his tail between his legs.

Of course this story had a happy ending but the comparisons with Watts are fair dinkum insane.

No boots. Just observations. Think it can be done better.  Not to degrade a player.

Ok so you don't know anything and will continue slinging mud at the club without actually saying what you mean. I hope you realise that some on here may get sucked in to your BS and will pass it on Chinese whispers style which could have a destabilising effect on the club.

End if the day Jack's a floored genius, kicks a lovely goal one minute, drops the easiest of chest marks the next.  But if Jack is as good as we all think he is, they should be lining up to part with an early 2nd rounder at the very least. By all reports he was shopped around at end of 14, if he loses confidence at Port he may well be done in 2yrs anyway.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

The Gold Coast Suns find themselves outside of the top eight for the first time since Round 1 with pressure is mounting on the entire organisation. Their coach Damien Hardwick expressed his frustration at his team’s condition last week by making a middle-finger gesture on television that earned him a fine for his troubles. He showed his desperation by claiming that Fox should pick up the tab.  There’s little doubt the Suns have shown improvement in 2025, and their position on the ladder is influenced to some extent by having played fewer games than their rivals for a playoff role at the end of the season, courtesy of the disruption caused by Cyclone Alfred in March.  However, they are following the same trajectory that hindered the club in past years whenever they appeared to be nearing their potential. As a consequence, that Hardwick gesture should be considered as more than a mere behavioral lapse. It’s a distress signal that does not bode well for the Queenslanders. While the Suns are eager to remain in contention with the top eight, Melbourne faces its own crisis, which is similarly deep-seated but in a much different way. After recovering from a disappointing start to the season and nearing a return to respectability among its peer clubs, the Demons have experienced a decline in status, driven by the fact that while their form has been reasonable (see their performance against the ladder leader in the Kings Birthday match), their conversion in front of goal is poor enough to rank last in the competition. Furthermore, their opponents find them exceptionally easy to score against. As a result, they have effectively eliminated themselves from the finals race and are again positioned to finish in the bottom half of the ladder.

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.
