I always picture Clint Eastwood leaning on his Gran Torino whenever I read your posts Wayne.

Do you sit on the porch with a shotgun in your lap?

That was a classic movie.

Would anyone be interested in Hartung from the Hawks? Out of contract. Could come cheap. He could be the outside speed we need.

What's with all the suggestions for flat track bully mids?

Combining with a Kent to WA to replace Lecras trade i suspect.

Gaff is contracted until the end of 2018.

Is he a free agent at the end of 2018? It makes sense to try to trade the year before his contract expires, if his club thinks he might walk.

OK, he's not the ideal, but he does have the right tools, and he may be a lot more gettable. Especially if we're forced to give a bit more to land Lever.

As my daughter might say, he's not Beyonce, but he's a good solid Kelly Rowland!

I'm tired of the club going 4 players that will do would rather go 4 a kid in the draft or go 4 a star

Speed  is only any good if it is combined with good decision making - Hartung hasn't got that.

RFA.

I think he suits a need and I like him more than most obviously. Not that surprising that putside players go missing when the're getting towellwd up on the inside. Better disposer of the ball than most of our onballers.

I rate him as a second ruck/tall forward. He's a good mark ad a good set shot.

We lack serious height i the forward line with most of our players about the 195cm mark.

The Weed will be the one next year

Because Whitfield is contracted

Lever is not

Which essentially means little anyway.

The trade negotiations bear the same weight either way in reality.

Outside mids I would be having a crack at would be:

Whitfield

Gaff

Touk Miller

Jack Matin

Aaron Hall

Sidebottom

Dream Big lads - destination club

Miller and particularly Hall are turnover merchants.

The rest I agree with though. Jack Martin would be a dream.

And that's all he's ever going to be

Josh Kelly stays with Giants, announcement shortly

I watched this bloke pretty closely the last few games and noticed that he applies no pressure and doesn't like the contest.

His attribute is pace.

Don't think he would be a target.

Honestly, I'd be stoked to get Gaff, could probably get him cheap if the weagles think he'll walk in free agency next year.

25 year old with good skills, good speed, and a midfielder who doesn't hesitate to kick the ball!!!

Could be perfect

Hopper has announced he'll re-sign as well. The pool of available OOC players is shrinking.

Good.  Now go balls out at Whitfield.  Give it everything we've got, and change his mind.

Wait for free agency.  I've cooled on Gaff, in the last year or more.

Best news possible other than him coming to the Dees.

One out of left field, I wouldn't mind having a go at getting Nathan Wilson from GWS, he's still contracted beyond this year but he'd be an upgrade on Bernie.

I read that a couple of clubs were circling but I'm not sure we are one of them.

West Australian.  Being courted by Freo apparently mates with Harley Bennell.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
