Trade rumours

I thought Pyke's remarks after the GF, where he tried to wash his hands of any responsibility for the team's performance, were remarkable. If that's a reflection of his overall attitude to coaching ...

Don Pyked it !!

If Sloane is wanting to leave Adelaide and home to Victoria we'd be mad not to throw everything at him. We need quality midfielders and leaders. He would be perfect for us. Forget Lever and everyone else, if Sloane is legitimately available then we move heaven and earth to get him!

No no no D11 rumours need a source or some here believe it's not a valid rumour but just a made up rumour!!!! Ha ha  it's a bloody RUMOUR and that's all it is.

Don't they?  That's strange.

I've heard that we are in line to get Bontempelli, Lever, Tom Lynch and Ollie Wines for nothing more than a 4th round pick.  Can't name my source as I don't need to for a rumour.

If Sloane were available I Would think the saints would be in the best position with draft pics available to get him provided he wanted to go there Of course.

Imo we would have sfa chance if getting him.

Zanotti files on Facebook with a great track record posted about Sloane.

Trade Whisperer saying St Kilda have contacted GWS re Shiel

He seems to be getting a lot of mail today.

Rockliff won't be at Lions next year.

Pies making massive late play for Lever.

The one that disappoints me the most is Vickery is staying at Hawthorn next year.

He's taking it all second hand from either the club twitter accounts or from trade radio.  No mail involved at all.

Well obviously that is up to you.

But if you post a rumour without some sense of where it came from and it likely veracity - everyone reading it will ask the same question  - what is the source?

You  read about sloane via the Zanotti file. That's helpful to know because i can make an assessment of how reliable it is based on my knowledge of the Zanotti file from previous years.

It would have been helpful to know that in the fist instance, even more so if it was correctly quoted.

But sure, if you don't mind causing some low level frustration and/or being disregarded when posting a rumour knock yourself out and post rumours without naming (or even hinting at) the source.

Sloane is as good as Martin, Dangerfield, Kelly etc..  Throw the money at him, also Trengoves no.9 just became available.

No he's not. Sloane has been blanketed during games and had no impact. Martin and Dangerfield are power athletes who can do damage as a forward. And Kelly is more skillful than Sloane, and can rack up equally high possessions.

Do we watch the same player? He can get tagged, yes, but he found his way around it towards the end. His 1st qtr in the GF he was the most damaging mid and forward.

Wasnt it the Zanotti Files which was 98% sure Rockliff was coming to us last year?

That was GNF. Maybe Zanotti is GNF.

Zanotti is a Dees member from memory also.

Not really.

So he's not to blame at all for the club wanting to trade him?  Really, Ralph?

I wonder if in a decades time (or 3 years even) we will still be debating the relevance of Watts and or how this was handled...doubt it.

Surely if Sloane was on the market, the Blues would be all over it like a rash.

I have said for years that the club uses him badly. Jack has played out of position, willingly pinch-hit in the ruck and put up with the worst delivery in the league for years. He's gone above and beyond trying to plug the holes in this team. No matter what they ask of him, he gives it his best. Send him to a side with decent foot skills and he will thrive.

So he's not to blame at all for the lack of professionalism he has shown, especially at the beginning of this year when he is looked upon not only as a senior player but as someone who needs to set an example as well?

I'm not laying all the blame at his feet, but to suggest it's all down to the club and Jack has done nothing wrong is akin to sticking your head in the sand.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
