Trade rumours

Could someone please make up a rumour to get this thread back on track.

Reported in Pews Ltd that Gawn had an extra Hundred Free kicks paid against him in year 2017 to contend with, as well as the two hundred and Fifty that were not. So he played pretty well considering Umpire don't understand New Zealandish.....

Isn't one of the things going against Meese that he's just not that tall or particularly mobile?

Good ruckman at stoppages etc but limited otherwise

Watching him destroy Spencer at Casey match up he looked like Pedo in the ruck - too smart for the lumbering opposition

No one will go near Goldstein as he's reportedly on $800k a year and North are only prepared to pay up to $300k of his contract AND want a decent pick for him

Whats happened to Jack Hannath?

He was either starved for opportunities behind Sandilands, or simply not up to it.  Sandilands has had his fair share of injuries and I don't recall Hannath getting much of a gig behind him.  With Spencer gone we have a spot for a backup ruckman, but I'd rather we look to upgrade rather than just move sideways.

Not sure I understand your post. Goldy is on a big contract that the club who gets him will have to pay. Also Roos will want a good pick or player for him.

he won't go interstate , thats for sure

and yes , but North will have to pay a %

If you were Stringer you would turn around and beg for forgiveness from Bevo and everyone associated with the Dogs.  Anything but having to go and play for Norf.

Stringer still a chance to stay at Dogs, still a lot to play out. Unless Dogs get a super super deal in their favour he will stay.

I'd love to have a wager with you on both. He won't be at the Dogs, and they won't get a super super deal.

Agreed. Gone way too far now. He comes out and says..I want to play for x...it will all over. Dogs handled his trade badly and will pay for it.

When team mates come outs saying they basically want you out its not a good sign. I hope for is sake he can find a club and show again what he can do, at his best he's on of a few players in this league worth watching.

This is based on no rumours or anything but a player I think we should make a phone call to is Shaun atley. I see him as someone who may need a change of club and with a stronger midfield around him could be a good pick up.

Id also be open to giving Mitch honeychurch a lifeline

Wasn't sure when I heard it myself either but I spoke with someone involved with the Dogs tonight whose spoken to Bevo and that's what he was told... will see how it all plays out I guess...

Atley just turned 25yr old and racked up 150 games. Has some serious leg speed. I agree a change of club would be good for him. Especially to the Dees as an 189cm outside midfielder/winger.

I would straight swap Watts for Atley.

And would prefer Atley over Gaff.

Unsubstantiated fact at this point

This highlights so much that is wrong today in terms of peoples ability to analyse information. And it has infected jounalism.

Some random person puts unsubstantiated heresay on the net - in this case an ex player said kent had poor skinfolds - and another random person uses this 'fact' to support hia argument.

I would do that deal too, but I’d still like to get Gaff in if he’s available

Atley is a fine player with a good bank of experience and a good kick on him

Has there been any talk of Atley leaving? I can’t imagine the Kangas wanting to let him go

Oh, he's still contracted . I see.

What do you reckon about Preuss.  His numbers are excellent for a Kid.  Would they trade a kid?

Not that kid.

Can't believe people want 2 get rid of Watts there are many I'd get rid of b4 him

Many you'd get rid of that have no trade value, which gets us to why people might want to get rid of Watts.

There's a reason why there is no "To get rid of Harmes or not" thread.

You gotta give to get

The only players of ours with any value to clubs are those with upside - other clubs  aren't going to want our scraps, and we are not going to want to trade the likes of Trac or Oliver(as Crows opened with for Lever) so instead it's those next tier of importance of players that we will need to look to move on if we want to bring in the likes of Atley, who would benefit our side enormously

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
