Trade radio just said this is the deal

NM give BB, 28 and Future 4th

Melb give 26, 33 and future 4th

Happy with that. A really good trade. Now to concentrate on player development from existing stocks. Our existing boys deserve it, rather than be left to self-develop or fade away.

Expecting a full Victoria Police investigation into this daylight robbery.

Effectively we get Ben Brown for Preuss. What an absolute bargain.

Kudos to Mahoney and co.

I wonder...

I reckon this might be a 'thank you' from North for the swapping of first round picks last year.

This is what happens when you show you are willing to give a little to get a little.

Other clubs should take note

This is an incredible result if true - Mahoney has done it again!

In terms of going after pick 14, probably means the Roos are still in the box seat.

They now have 26, 30, 33.  We have 28 and 31.  Might go down to what they need to use on Stephenson.

And if Stephenson goes, then it might open the door for a swap of TMac and Phillips

Don't you blokes pick on Preussy, he's got the tackle of the Century in my household

Highway robbery if true.

Cameron 2 first rounders plus

Sideshow 33 and change

Wright for a fourth rounder

Tmac - no suitors

Its a mugs game.  No logic at all. No market value, just value to trading parties

For Cameron and Brown to be so far apart in worth is nuts.

Brown's hair is far more marketable.

Could be a riot at Arden street. North supporters losing their **** over this. Just hurts them more thinking they were getting either a first rounder or 2 second rounders. Well that’s what they were all saying anyway. Take time out and read the Ben brown link on big footy. Made me have a laugh and brightened my day

Lets hope we get the 2017-2019 BB, not the 2020 version.

Lol! Are there jumper manufacturers that could actually do this??

If you google "afl simpsons jerseys" there are a few dodgy-looking websites that are selling them online (clearly unauthorised though). Up to you whether you trust them enough to hand over your credit card details.

That's crazy good if true.

Even the 4th round steak knives are surely in our favour!

Norf - death riding our future fourth now :)

I've actually never met anyone who supports Norf. But jeez, I'd be shattered if MFC had done this to our list. I still can't understand what has gone down for Norf to flick him out of the Club for so little. It's not like they have cap space problems and they desperately need picks. Very strange one.

I've met 2 North Melbourne supporters in my entire life. Where are they all aha

I think their priorities may have changed when Stephenson became available,

So cutting their losses to try and improve...

We're looking at a potentially significant upgrade to the future 4th round pick here. We only have the Lions future 4th while they only have theirs. Could be swapping 72 for 55. Nice little bonus.

Elwood.

And thats what they say about us!

I think all the old victorian inner city teams need to stick together. i hope North bounce back.

Adel may be the biggest threat with dealing with WB for pick 14

  • GAMEDAY: West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?

  • FEATURE: 1925

A hundred years ago today, on 2 May 1925, Melbourne kicked off the new season with a 47 point victory over St Kilda to take top place on the VFL ladder after the opening round of the new season.  Top place was a relatively unknown position for the team then known as the “Fuchsias.” They had finished last in 1923 and rose by only one place in the following year although the final home and away round heralded a promise of things to come when they surprised the eventual premiers Essendon. That victory set the stage for more improvement and it came rapidly. In this series, I will tell the story of how the 1925 season unfolded for the Melbourne Football Club and how it made the VFL finals for the first time in a decade on the way to the ultimate triumph a year later.
