GAMEDAY - Round 19

Not ideal but managable lets kill em this qrt dees

Even when we kick it forward they have 2-3 extra players all alone. We are struggling to mark space today and the game is being played on their terms. We need a strong quarter here.

No he's not, he's just being forced to man Ben brown. You know, the guy who has kicked more goals than buddy this year

Pull the finger out demons

Oliver had the chance to kick lobg out of the centre... turns backwards and tries to handball....

IDIOT!

We get smashed in contested marking every game

It...it took 3 players to tackle one guy and dislodge the ball.

Needs to lift

I wish Oliver kicked more often. He has an excellent foot on him, even around the field. We knew this when he was drafted as he had the perfect kicking score at the draft combine.

I know right, Casey beckons

We need another tall in the side. A third tall defender.  Even Hogan could have saved 2+ goals that quarter.

Pedersen in the forward line, one of Hogan, Watts or TMac in  defense.  Our disposal's too rushed, need to be cooler, possess and tire them out a bit more.

Come on guys have a little faith.

Still confident but our tackling is a major concern. Thankfully we are good at getting numbers around the ball.

We are not a top 4 side.. lucky to scrape into the finals

Based on last quarter you're right. Based on the 1st half last week we'd be premiers.

Pedersen should still be in the side. Not having him destroys the flexibility we should have from Tom McDonald being able to go back. He actually can't really do that right now because we don't have enough talls.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
