Cats doing just enough to be in the game at 3/4 time and pray for Selwood and Dangerfield to get them over the line in the last.

Every f#*king week.

If you think thats good - From last week following an Eagles WIN...

The Eagles are an odd side. They've got 3-4 genuine footballers who turn up at every ground, and the rest of them seem to only be able to play at home in front of 30,000 family and friends.

I'm either a prophet or I spend my weekends avoiding my family - gifting me a unique knowledge of the game. You decide.

Picked St Kilda and West Coke so stuffed that. However, great that teams around our level are dropping matches.

Nah. I just hate Whorethorn mate

i have enjoyed the silence and obituries !!

Glad the saints didn't win and overtake us on the ladder. They will be one of our main competitors for finals for sure

WC could drop too

You're both. One can only gain true insight through the total abandonment of family time. Oh wise one.

Win tomorrow night and we are equal 6th, just one game from third spot on the ladder.

Did Whorethorn play well or Weagles play crap?

Just left this game. West Coast were painfully slow. At times I had to line them against my smartphone (side on) to gauge if they were moving.

Why do we always have to play W.C. in Perth. Hard to beat, especially with the umpires no matter what head office says over there. Just when was the last time we played them at the "G" ? Surely next year they must play us here.

If anything we will be equal seventh with Meth Coast! Port Adelaide are a mile,in front of us on percentage and we are well clear of Freo for now! It is imperative that we win tomorrow to keep in the race.

WC are similar to us as we have been recently. They can be great front runners on their home track but wilt under real pressure from any ordinary side.  They also like us have average leadership with no identifiable strong leader. If last season we had  a similar home ground advantage we would have been finalists for sure.

You nailed it. They have nobody to stand up when the heat is on, which is an huge indictment on them considering they have the 2nd oldest list in the AFL.

Now there's a club with heaps of dosh but without spirit or backbone.

2014 and they did us by 93

Cyril finally played a good game after being poor all year and he is a genius again. Give me a break. How about holding him to account as a senior player over the past month?

Bruce will be very pleased/aroused

Hawthorn has over 71,000 members, their fans have seen four premierships since 2008 and they can only get 28,000 people to the MCG on a sunny Sunday afternoon.

Incredible.

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.
