What 18,810 Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 Too bad St Kilda own their pick, what a gift it will be for them. Hopefully they pick another McCartin.

old dee 24,083 Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 I have admired Hawthorn for 40 years however I dont feel very sad for them at present. May they lose every game this year.
John Crow Batty 8,893 Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 I would be very worried if they still haven't won a game when we play them in a few weeks.
The heart beats true 18,201 Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 It's not the losses that I find interesting. It's the way they've lost. They've now only won 1 of their last 8 games.

DistrACTION Jackson 10,747 Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 Cyril Riolo seems to be struggling this season. I wonder if he needs a fresh start elsewhere to re-ignite his passion. Maybe Lewis could get in his ear and the Hawks would be keen to part ways to start their rebuild.

dazzledavey36 56,345 Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 I have no sympathy for the hawks. And James Frawley go and suffer in your jocks you grub.
faultydet 7,623 Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 I feel really sorry for O'Meara and Mitchell, who would have already cleared a spot on the mantle piece to put their cheap premiership spoils. Nah, not really.
Gator 18,054 Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 Lost all confidence. Old and virtually bereft of young talent. 4 Flags. I'd take the flags.
Ted Lasso 19,586 Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 I think they need a re build and will probably trade a couple of players at years end.

Poor Chip will have to live through another rebuild. Fortunately his staying power and leadership qualities will see the Hawks right. Observation: Loved his little tanty as Hawkins marked just before he kicked his 3rd goal.
Emerald 1,744 Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 I don't like the Cats but seeing the Hawks get dismembered in that last quarter was pure fkn' art.

Not sure who they'll trade, but you would think at least two of Hodge, Burgoyne and Gibson will call it quits at the end of the year. Their list as a whole is looking light on for talent, especially in the key position areas, and after this year they will see even more experience disappear from the list. I don't feel sorry for them in the slightest, but it was inevitable that they would take a fall after 4 flags.

And get a bag of chips for them, surely? They might get something for Poppy, Breust, Sicily, Rioli and Smith, but they can't expect too much. Rioli is almost 28 and Smith is almost 29. They might have to package them to get a first rounder this year, but they really have no room for error with their recruiting over the next few years. It makes me very happy to say they're in for some pain. Desperately got to use this time to convert the missus.

Adam The God 30,743 Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 The question should probably be did they overrate the guys they currently have on their list? Surely, O'Meara and Mitchell were never going to compensate for the loss in experience of Mitchell and Lewis. You've gotta say Clarkson's either misread it massively or his arrogance got the better of him. Neither scenario looks upon him favourably, but I doubt he'll be at the Hawks much longer. I hope he doesn't make his way to Collingwood.
