Wow I knew there had been some big changes but only four played on Saturday from Roos team.

That says it all for me.

At the start of 2014 we had a VFL quality team now we have a good list.

Frawley is the only loss. He really did hurt the backline when he left, as much as I love Gus.

Frawley, Rance, Talia or a defender of that ilk would complete our list

If Talia was open to a move, and I doubt he is, I would throw everything at him.

Wow. Roos must have thought he was being paid well to coach in the VFL. What a shocking team that was.

Yes old Dee, we could happily retire or live in luxury for the rest of our single malt days.

An obscene amount of money. but such is the way in this degraded society.

However, without Roos we would be nowhere.

His appointment was the essential foundation stone for the new footy department and the beginning of change.

Sure there have been a lot of other reasons, but Roos appointment was a watershed moment.

Just like Hogan's decision to remain at Melbourne, and, a little later, Jordyn Lewis coming across from the Hawks. Not only manifestly important but also symbolic of the change.

And hopefully Goodwin will reap the benefits by adding his mark.

And of those in Roos team, I think I could only say that Tyson, Cross, Frawley and maybe Howe (as each was playing then) might make it into Goodwin's team.

No love for TMac LDC?

With all those high draft picks we assembled a VFL side, including Gysberts, Morton and Cook.

I actually feel some sympathy for Neeld.

Regardless of his gameplan or methods, he had no chance in hell of success

Amazing difference.

So many questionable names in Roos' first game.

He mustn't have had much confidence going into that game.

And yet we probably should have won it. I reckon we would have had Tommy Mac not got injured.

Melbourne supporter Weitering? ;)

I reckon we're one midfielder short too.

I'm proud of myself for not giving up there and then looking at that list.

I wonder, if you could put a team together of the players who didn't make it onto the field in Round 1 for Goodwin, would it still be competitive against the round 1 from 3 years ago?

F:          Kennedy-Harris      Hulett           Kent

HF:        Vandenberg        Pederson       Johnstone

C:          Bugg                Kennedy               Hibberd

HB:         Wagner            Garland            White

B:          Keilty                  Frost               Harmes

FOLL:    Spencer      Trengove      Tyson

Bench: Filipovic, McKenna, Maynard, T Smith

Geebus, it's not that far off.

While i agree with you it has to be noted the loss of frawley did bring in brayshaw.

While kpds are a hot topic at demonland atm I'm still happy with the above outcome

A questionable sense of humour and standing too close to Jack Viney.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
