Although he didnt win the game for us, he was probably the difference if the Weid's form was the same as it has been. Glad he came into the side.

The composure he showed to gather the 50/50 ball from the ruck, break the contest, run and kick inside 50 directly led to a goal.

Didnt kick his first, but that will come.  Lowest AF points on the ground, but worth giving another go.  Showed he is not lost at this level.

That clearance he had that resulted in a goal was a beauty and came at a critical time. Something for him to remember

That clearance out of the centre circle was epic.

That wasn't the only trick he pulled when in the ruck...  he did another from the forward pocket, where he was out-positioned,  and he worked his way quickly reaching past his opponent, to work the ball into our hands...  which resulted a goal.

Has some nice efforts and tricks.

He seemed to be slightly more aggressive and versatile than Weideman. I guess they could both play together if they are in form.

I thought his work as a back up in the ruck was very good and that last quarter clearance from the centre was a gem and team lifter.

He seemed somewhat at sea as forward though - is he more comfortable and useful as a defender?

He can play forward pretty well, I think the first game on the big stage just threw him a little.

He also copped a nice corky from Roughead in his first ruck contest so he was running around sore all day

Definitely worth another game a senior level on that brilliant ruck clearance alone even though he was at the bottom of our ranking points for pure possessions.

Looks solid and a smart footballer

Gets another game IMHO.

Great athlete and would like to see him used up the ground a bit more as a link up mark, like we used to use Pederson.

A great photo after Harmes’ goal from Dec’s clearance

And a nice block from Harmes... when Dec took the ball from the centre square ruck  and found space to move in,  to deliver the ball into F50.

Congrat's to you Drkn167,  on Decs,  and your family's fantastic day.

He'll get better uncle... best to have the backup ruck from the forward half,  so we don't break structure in defence.

I can see Dec plays a similar in skills role as TMc...  just not sure of Dec's engine...  but his ability to mark the ball,  and to operate going forward.

The team has tried playing TMc deep...  when he is at his best,  playing almost a centreline role out high.   Creating in transitions,  and repelling opposition defensive thrusts,  and following the ball back into F50.

Dec, IF he can continue to develop...   I think will be able to play deeper, as a genuine 2nd ruck/forward,  where his main deep game would be to assist the No1 tall forward.  I think he could make an excellent tall mobile foil.

Certainly a very competent back up ruckman. Hoping he can become Pedo 2.0

That's not a bad analogy for Dec at this stage.  That's the role.  Hopefully he will catch up to Pedo's role,  and then surpass it.

His contribution,  Re effect, was top shelf,  for a young 1st gamer in a struggling team.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
