because a contract is just a legal device and we all know that in practice legal issues are never black and white and there is always two sides to any legal dispute. lawyers ensure this is immutable. everyone is just trying to avoid this ending up in court where everyone could be a loser in some way lol.

I hear what you're saying but ultimately H is breaching the contract by not turning up to work. If I had a contract job and just stopped turning up when I was well enough to, or took holidays to Africa and never came back on time, or needed weeks off to grieve the death of people I don't even know, I would be breaching my contract and it would rightfully be torn up and my salary would cease to enter my bank account.

Of course, things change when you're an overpaid sports figure who can afford lawyers to manipulate unjust outcomes. What H is doing makes my blood boil; the sense of entitlement and sanctimony is pathetic, especially on the type of salary he's on. You'd think being the "worldly" person he is, he might understand just how blessed his life is.

Brayshaw and Jetta had some pretty serious concussion concerns recently.

Perhaps "H" would be well placed in observing how they dealt with it and how they demonstrated absolute commitment and dedication to the club and to their teammates throughout their recovery periods.

In short, earn your contract extension Heritier - in doing so, you will also earn respect about the place.

This saga beggars belief.

I am not supporting him Mr. leg. I think that the MFC are playing the long game so this could take some time. Especially when it seems he is not taking advice from anyone other than himself.

IMO he has played his last game for both the MFC and Casey and he is now just a name on the list.

It appears that his desire bb. It is the money to had for him to leave that is only item to be resolved.

Interesting article on the AFL site with regards to the Crows keeping Sam Shaw on the list purely from a welfare perspective.

Obviously the two instances have differences but the overriding message is that if we tried to get Lumumba off the books from a 'not meeting contractual obligations' pov, we could potentially open ourselves up considerably if something does happen with his concussion claims.

Player welfare will always be first and if it takes having him as a non-playing listed player, such as Shaw, to avoid anything coming back on the club then so be it.

I agree Steve and we could probably list him as long term injured and use the spot if we desire.

I believe the AFL may have an issue with that as the doctors have apparently cleared H fit to train/play.
