Does Cooky have a soft spot for the team he used to play for?

I believe he played for the West Coast also. Whilst name dropping, Jimmy Bartell was hitting golf balls next to me today (at the driving range).

When I asked him if he was likely to be playing in the mid-field on Saturday he said "Oh I'll be playing all over, fixing up everyone else's mistakes". He comes across as a pretty nice bloke.

Aliens prefer to watch Geelong at Simmonds stadium than the MCG I guess. Why does anyone both to complain about where the cats play their last game. We gave away some of our home games to interstate, certainly not to our advantage I guess.

I am driving down Geelong for the game on the weekend. It will be my first time there for a game.

Can any of you seasoned vets give me some tips on the car parking situation?

Street parking, parking lots, ground parking...etc

Happy to walk 10-15 mins if there are cheaper and more readily available options further away from ground.

Spoke to one of the players at training today. Not gonna name him but best 22 every week. Said he was much more worried about the Carlton game and was very confident this week.

I'd love to know why the difference.

I bought the ticket before the Carlton game.... :-/

That said, I still not regret going down last year when I had the chance, so I dont miss any games any more if I can help it. Plus its the last game of season, the last outing for Roos.. etc

Whats the worst the could happen?

(no need to answer that)

I reckon your best bet is to drive past the ground (on Latrobe Tce) and turn left at the Fyans St lights. There's side streets near the Good Guys and car yards where you can usually get a park.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
