It was highly unlikely we'd make any changes after last weekend, but I think this does 2 things. Firstly it says to Corey, well done champ, had a great game last week and you're building consistency. Keep it going and you'll get a run in the seniors soon enough, i.e. bash the door down champ! Secondly it fires a shot across the bow of those fringe players in this weeks line-up. If you don't perform, we have a lad here who is ready to have a red hot crack.

I have a feeling when he finally gets his chance, we're going to be seeing a lot of him.

Great news for him. Can't see him getting a game before the end of the season, but let's him know he's still a shot at a list spot going forward.

Starting to worry about Benken now a bit though.

Its a good opportunity for him to go through the warm up with the team.  Get a feel for preparing for a senior game.  He'll be available to play for Casey on Sunday so no loss in game time.  Win-win

I also hope that commentators perpetually refer to his basketball career as per Brad Greens Manchester United Trial (yes, but not at a senior level), or Mark Blicavs Steeplechasing career

What is this (to me) unknown quantity going to bring to the side?

i think the main things is exactly what has dropped off in the last 5- weeks - manic pressure and attack. A goodwin player if i ever saw one - fierce at the ball, big bodies and loves the contest.

I'm not sure about his kicking though.

I'm guessing their strategy is to put GWS off their kicking game with immense pressure, forcing turnovers and transitioning into attack. Basically what we were doing in the first half of the year before injuries mounted up.

Maynard seems to be a high pressure player even if his disposal is iffy.

A Pies mate told me he was not good enough to be best 22, at the time we got him. Thought it might be sour grapes. Don't think so now.

Jeremy Howe a chance to be AA. That makes it a great trade.

Loved it, laughed when he was talking about being sore and Goody just casually says we need you  to come to Canberra to debut. I think Goodwin is a bit of a players man and a hugger. But happy to see the boys waiting for him and congratulating him.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
