Boyd has heart, has a crack for every second he's on the ground.

Potential vs Results right now.

I really hope Hogan stays.

Boyd's achievement cannot be denied.

Boyd crashed packs and marked the ball, all over the ground, he didn't really play the role of a FF he was more a roving forward/ruck, he got better as the game went on. Hogan doesn't play ruck but it is something that maybe we should look at, Boyd had 14 Hit Outs as well and if Hogan could play the cut out ruck position it would solve a few problems.

Good God Ron.

Referencing Tom Boyd's ruck skills ?  They're ordinary.  But at least they get him a game.  Without them he's at Footscray.

Lynch is a better grab ?  Yes he is, but Hogan is in the best 5 marks in the competition.   You know, out of nearly 800 players.  WTF would you even go there.  At the same age Hogan was a better mark.

Lynch is more mobile ?  Bullcrap.  Hogan is more creative, faster and better at ground balls than Lynch.  Hogan is a far superior handballer than Lynch.

Hogan was also the better player at the same age.  Check the goals kicked after the same games played.

Some of you flogs don't deserve a talent like Hogan.

Another [censored] bites the dust.

Just took 9 days this time.  Well done Pro Dee.

Hogan has a three year contract on the table from the MFC. It's the latest iteration of multiple contract offers from the club.

They don't know if he'll accept it. He's absolutely equivocal.

Doesn't sound too good.

TBO, I don't find the credibility of his info to be any different to GNF's.

Don't know if you remember Nudge, mo, but his general modus operandi was referring to his 'contact', and a long post of one liners full of completely made up stuff.  It was always great fun to read I thought as it got the imagination churning, but the people who took it all way too seriously would get upset because none of it turned out to be right.

So yes, similar credibility to GNF I guess.

Also has a Premiership Medallion.

Im not fussed what Hogan may or may not be. It's actually inconsequential ( despite many's a concern ) to our real progress.

That progress will be directed by the FD and Coaching. Hogan is just one player of inconsistent effect. He's young and might be anything. He also might plateau  , he might bounce on, he migh sook til midnight

Hogan is the epitome of seeking the silver lining when Storm clouds encircled our club. He is also one of the last picks of our old regime. He was picked as a white knight , champion of the scarf in waiting.

Fact is he's just human, a very good player on his day,( or part thereof ) but has human foibles none the less. He strikes me as mercenary, odd for his youth but that's my impression. It may not be that of many.

Boyd today exhibited the style of someone having bought in 100℅ . Hogan hasn't given me that to date. Again, my impression..

I may be alone. I really don't care whether he stays or goes for again his value will be returned whether he stays or goes.

It doesn't matter who plays for us. It doesn't matter who kicks the goals. It ONLY Matters whether a team of 22 perform each week.

Happy if he's part of it, non-plussed if he isn't.

One thing i have admired about Boyd and something Hogan could take a leaf out of his body language and attitude. Boyd has copped an absolute barrage of criticism in the past and he's just kept his head down and worked hard. No sooking to teamates, no whinging at umpires etc.. I have bagged him in tje past but im just wrapped for him playing so well in the big stage. Hope he gets great confidence out of today and his career continues to rise.

Ironically Boyd is exactly the player we are after as he plays the perfect Forward/Ruckman. Him and Gawn would be a dangerous combo..

Jesus mate, people can't even accurately report what they hear themselves let alone second hand.

And do you think Hogan is going to blab to "someone senior" at St.Kilda ?  I sometimes hear people talking on tv and then get on here and can't believe the slant a posters gone with.  Same words, but completely different view on what was said.

He's contracted for 2017 and won't be going anywhere this year.

After watching the Dogs today, I'm done with anyone who isn't dedicated to the club, dedicated to the cause, and dedicated to getting us our next premiership.

A player perpetually delaying their next contract doesn't interest me. Sign on or [censored] off. If you aren't 200% committed to the single goal of winning us our first premiership cup in however many decades, I don't want you at the club; it only serves as a disservice to the club and the rest of the playing group who are clearly on-board.

You have no real idea what Hogan will ACTUALLY do. Why suggest otherwise.

It was the CEO. They know what's being said in the industry. That said, he and the MFC apparently don't know what Hogan will do.

Obviously I hope he re-signs.

Absolutely. those who make excuses for Hogan are just deluding themselves. Premierships are won off the back of 100% buy in from all. Hogan is just leading everyone on and wasting valuable time and resources.

he knows hes gone, we know hes gone, just make the decision and f%#k off. seeing out the contract and bailing next year is the most selfish of all the options he has in front of him.

The Dogs did a fantastic job ridding every corner of their club of players who weren't committed, and it nabbed them a premiership. Can you imagine Bontempelli, Stringer, Macrae, Libba, Dahlhaus, any of those players delaying contract talks and inventing excuses as Hogan has with us? None of them can wait to sign their next extension.

They also ridded themselves of mercenaries like Ward, Griffin, Cooney and Higgins. Would you take any of them back now? [censored] no!

Either buy-in or [censored] off; there are clearly still cultural issues with the MFC and they won't be solved until every player is on-board with the sole objective of sustained success for a success-starved club.

Thanks GNF. I love a good riddle. I was disappointed with my inability to decipher your riddles during the Dangerfield saga but I've been hard at work ever since tackling cryptic crosswords and my 6 year old daughter's 'Book of Riddles' and I think I'm ready. So I highlighted the clear clues you've  for the Demonland faithful and decided to use google to help filter through your obvious list of clue words. But then it dawned on me that it can't be that simple. Remembering that Hogan's Heroes was produced by Bing Crosby Productions back in 1967 I decided to overlook Google this time and head over to Bing. Without hesitation I entered the above words (pond cowgirl parallel "hear say") into my new favourite search engine of choice and BAM there it was! Screaming out to me only three sites down on the list of search responses was a massive indication of your real hidden message. I was being implored to download Adele's 'Someone Like You'. And the alarm bells were ringing. The last time I'd listened to that song was 5 years ago to this very day (haunting) when my Facebook feed was flooded by friends pricks who thought it would be funny to rip my heart open with reminders of Scully's defection. So there it is. He's gone and about to sign a 5 year deal. But with whom? So following the same approach I turned my attention back to google, entering the same 4 words. And again, three sites down on the list, incredibly, I found another music site, this time from Russia. And sure enough, there was the final clue. Enlisting the assistance of the ever reliable Google Translate, I confidently scrolled down to find a list of the most recently added lyrics and again staring out at me was 'Over the Couds I Meander'. Clearly a reference to Eagles and therefore the West Coast Eagles.

It was a fun riddle-filled tryst GNF. Until next trade period.

I think it was an interview with Luke Dahlhouse after the game on the ground and he choked and said he owes the doggies his life for giving him the opportunity. He was emotional and holding back tears. He had genuine love and care for his footy club.

Will be a great day.

Even if his footy turns to krap, at least that moron Brian Taylor won't be able to add "and he still hasn't re signed with the Dees", to every single commentary on Hogan.

No.

Doggies picked him up in the rookie draft after all 18 clubs overlooked him. He has every right to owe the dogs his life. Especially after today. His greatful for the opportunity, money is just a bonus.

Nothing to do with the pokies mate.

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
