I watched him play against the Northern Blues last year before he was drafted and he had 11 contested marks in the first half coming off an injury interupted year, i said to the mate i was with, this kid is going to be a freak! was ecstatic when we drafted him.

Did you really watch the game? Or are you listening to Sanderson making up stats on the draft coverage?

He didn't even have 11 marks for the game.

I watched the game, he was dominant.

Pretty sure he is going off by Sandersons over the top comment.. As you said his stats was 7 marks and 2 goals.

He was promising, not dominant. 11 touches, 7 marks and 2 goals makes it hard to justify a dominate performance.

you have to understand the context, skinny lad competing very well against senior bodies really stood out to me and i thought he was extremely impressive, i wasn't sure where he would sit come draft day before that game but he showed some great signs of what he's going to be able to do when he develops an AFL body.

The biggest thing i noticed on the day was he had an ability to be totally out positioned in a marking contest by a much more seasoned body and still managed to either mark the ball or bring it to ground, which is exactly what you want a key forward to be able to do.

Another concern i had about him before that game was how mobile he was, i wasn't sure if he'd move around well enough to be a good AFL key forward, but he certainly moved well while he was out there, and we're seeing that a bit now at Casey, an injury free run is really helping him and he's consistently competing with bigger more seasoned bodies and not just going okay, but going quite well.

To be fair, there are various degrees of "dominant" in my opinion.

Dominant against an opponent in a match-up; dominant in winning contests against whichever opponent came up against him; dominant as far as being the single greatest influencer on the outcome of the match; ad nauseum...

Yes.

All well and good.

But you said he had 11 contested marks. At a game that you said you went to. Which is not true.

I'm not sure how you can make that mistake.

Clearly you like to exaggerate.

This is truly an amazing reaction to me saying nothing more than i rate one of our young players.

I wasn't counting at the game, but i knew it was quite a lot, and they were good marks.

I did hear a public comment that it was 11 so i just assumed that was correct, it was nothing more than that.

Disappointing reaction, but that's Demonland i guess, i've been on here long enough to know what to expect.

simple solution for those who don't like my posts, don't read them.

Yeah he had time to kick more yesterday. His kicking is very good. He weights his field kicks well and is usually good going for goal even though he missed one yesterday.

Really surprised there is no Thomas the tank Engine photo with a photo shopped Clarry face yet!

And Picket, i think you have gone LOCO!
