Young team, gonna have ups and downs, will everyone chill out.

Is Vince playing today?

We are playing st kilda, not Hawthorn, it's a disgraceful performance, not even competitive

Where's the media management on this? Dont understand why a club who hasn't acheived anything In a decade Is allowed to talk this rubbish In the media. MFC still hasnt learned and theyve had 10 years to try and fix crap talk like that

thanks for the acknowledgement,

they really do get ahead of themselves

I keep falling for it again and again and again.. The Dee's make us all look stupid with these efforts. No wonder we get so fired up.

Going to get drunk.

Yep, Hunt in particular is not going to make it i reckon. Offers nothing. Kent having a shocker but at least he has has some good games.

Give me a break. Saints are average. If we want finals, we should be beating them.

Hawks were lucky to beat Saints.

Once again we can't live up to the flucking hype.  No doubt pencilled in a win just like Essendon.

the new toump big mouth big ego hope he enjoys casey

No problem fitting in the changes for next week. So many playing carp football. Not running hard no pressure. Just rubbish.

Should be in defense and Salem in the forward line

You watch..

We'll kick a fewgoals in the fourth quarter, and Roos will tell us at the press conference that we fought back, that we're a young team, and that it's disappointing.

Not enough anger... And yes, it's important that we do see that the coaches care. It's easy to be happy in victory, but what does defeat men for them?

Not entirely their fault today, but our defence (or defensive efforts on the whole) has gone backwards this year.

We continually struggle to stop big run-ons by teams. The past 2 weeks when challenged we were good, but they were only 2/3 goal run ons, we struggle to halt and reverse momentum when it gets out by 4+ goals.

Hopefully this puts all that talk of finals and newfound confidence back in its box. We are still very immature in mindset - and i reckon we were mentally exhausted by our recent good form. It needs to be carried for an entire season, not consecutive weeks or a month. We are not there yet, nowhere near it.

Petracca = Petoumpas.

Mentally i think Roosy is already sitting on a beach somewhere,

Lost this at the selection table. Our players are slow and unaccountable. We needed a team of runners to match them on this deck. Forward line of Frost Pedo Watts and Hogan is providing no forward pressure. Sickening display.

We really are a slow team, the fact that the coaches are persisting with a zone that clearly isn't working is disturbing.

We should have bogged it down that quarter. Quite clear that Goodwin is coaching this game.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

It seems like only yesterday that these two sides faced off against each other in the centre of the continent. It was when Melbourne was experiencing a rare period of success with five wins from its previous six matches including victories over both of last year’s grand finalists.  Well, it wasn’t yesterday but it was early last month and it remains etched clearly in the memory. The Saints were going through a slump and the predicted outcome of their encounter at TIO Traeger Park was a virtual no-brainer. A Melbourne victory and another step closer to a possible rise into finals contention. Something that was unthinkable after opening the season with five straight defeats.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.
