If it was in play and marked it would have been called play on. Makes no sense to review the score because it went through the goal posts.

We've learnt.

Take momentum back when we can.

Hogan is a gun down back. I remember watching him for WA and just assumed he was a back man. I was surprised when he came out and started dominating up forward for us. If he plays down back, he is our best back man, I have no doubt about that. Of course I would prefer him up forward, but it was a good move to shift him back in that quarter, and it is a good ace to have up the sleeve. Watts and Hogan can swing position and swing games.

Bit sloppy in that second quarter but we were still able to match Collingwood with five goals. Bring it home Dees!

We just didn't handle the rise in tempo, half time should give us a chance to reset, we're clearly the better team, 4 of their 6 goals have come on the back of our mistakes, tidy them up and i can't see them even getting close to us.

We played like champagne millionaires for the last 15 of that second quarter and it cost us big time.

We need to do the basics and compete with ferocity 100% of the time not pick and choose.

There's some really good signs currently - need to put them away in the third.

Nice 'hang time' kick by Hogan late - super intelligent play.  Roos is using Hogan well too ... get him in the play to help shift the momentum.  Hogan is not just a key forward - he can play anywhere.

Kept that 5 goal lead from the first quarter ... and we would have taken that at quarter time.  We kick the first couple in the 3rd quarter and it's all over ... need a knockout punch.

Wagner, Harmes & Bugg have contributed well ... Frost & Hunt have done a few nice things too.

Dom Tyson played an amazing first quarter but has been well held since then! 10 touches and a goal in the first and now he's what 13-14 touches.

with them watching him Jones and Viney have been able to get onto the ball a bit more

Question: Would Demonland have exploded if Jack Watts had played like this in his debut game against Collingwood all those years ago? Better late than never, I suppose.

Jones has played well. Viney got some vital clearances in that second quarter.

Turnovers and skill errors are what's standing between us being also-rans and being a consistently decent team.. Will come with time and experience, but still frustrating when it happens.

We don't look on at the start of this quarter...

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
