Just reckon we need to try some things this week. Our best quarter so far this year was when we made some changes. If we go in with the same old boring lineup and same old boring game plan then we'll get the same old boring result. I'd rather take the gamble of going for a quicker more attacking forward line and see what happens than just let the predictable result occur.

See what you are saying but 90% of the time when another tall zones off, especially ones with North's experience, the ball never comes to ground, the defenders mark it. Then launches a sling shot rebound.

Jones started the essendon game off half back as well  im not sure if he lasted there past the first quater but i know he eventually got swapped to the middle because it want working early. I do however think it might be worth persisting... having a "see ball, get ball" type player in defence is a little different but i like it. 

And i think we can all agree Hogs CHF is better than FF but im not convinced the club sees it that way, for now anyway.

90%? Do you reckon TMac and Garls would agree with that number after Saturday?

The way I've tried to set it up, if someone leaves to go to Hogan to double, then we have high HF goal kickers to kick to instead, and dangerous crumbers around the pack for the spills.

Sorry, quality intercept marking defenders. I reckon 90% of the balls that went into OUR forward where intercept marked.

Will require the ball carriers to lower their eyes and spot up these targets. Which, for a long time, our midfield/halfbacks have struggled with.

Can't disagree with that.

Wet conditions, a tall opposition backline, good crumbers and some goalkicking mids... Let's just give it a crack! We're not expected to win playing the way we're expected to anyways.

Anyway our teamwork was out of tune preseason but we  guts'd  it through for wins.  Even if heart stopping.

North are also a gutsy side as well.  So i hope we can click into form.

It's a big week for Viney, Tyson and whichever other young mids (Oliver, ANB etc) get centre square time. If they can't break even then I don't think we can afford Vince or Jones to do any thing more than rest for 5 minutes a quarter at half back.

Of course that means we no longer have the positives of Vince's skills at half back, so it's robbing Peter to pay Paul, but I guess the midfield should still be priority number 1.

Don't think it's hard on him. Not saying he's been poor, just saying it's a big game for him, which is true given he generally doesn't have as much support from Jones and Vince in the middle this year.

Huge week for Viney, and I expect him to bounce back. We won't see another performance like last week from him. Similar Vanders and Tyson (who wasn't too bad, but can be better).

OK that's a fair call.

I'm really impressed with his development especially due the fact as you mentioned he hasn't had as much support from Vince and Jones. His kicking also seems to be improved so far this year.

I think he might have been one that was 'tired' during the Bombers game - I still think we might have rushed him back a little after his injury concerns late in the NAB Cup.  Hopefully with a couple of weeks under his belt he is ready to bounce back to some good form.

Hopefully Kent and Brayshaw bounce back too, if selected. They both looked very lethargic, though Brayshaw was clearly brought back too early.

He's in the leadership group, he nearly won the B+F last year, he gets talked up as the best trainer and the leader of the young players. 

Conditions should suit. Ziebell, Cunnington and Swallow are all what I'd describe as very solid but not spectacular players. Within the limits of the game plan I'd assign someone like ANB to mind Wells for part of the game. 

I know Viney will always give his best but if he's to be a champion player this is a great opportunity to do what the champs do and not play 2 bad games in a row.

I wonder if some kids will get a rest after this Tassie game?

 

I just feel that we need Oliver's mental tenacity  down in Tassie,  but that after this game,  he may get a much needed rest.   Back to Casey for a couple of weeks min'.

Also,  Hogan may get a week off footy, soon as well ?    That could shake up the goal to goal line.

Depth is important for us now, (2016)  with less rotations & a young list.
