For me, it feels like North and St Kilda are our bogey teams. Yeah we've copped some real pastings from the likes of the Hawks, Eagles and Freo over the last 6-7 years. But it seems like we haven't come up well against the Roos and Saints for a very, very long time. Like 20 odd years.

Like many here, I just hate losing matches that we should win, matches against 'ordinary' teams.  

North, Saints spring to mind and last year's capitulation so EssenDrug and Carltank were absolutely and totally unacceptable.   Turned me away from much interest for the remainder of the year.  

Getting beaten by the ultimate top 4 is understandable but getting thrashed regularly by them is off putting too.

Hi tony,  that's a tiny part of it.  the fenced off mcc gated community.

It means those are somehow immune from the norm.  Tony, I think many are secretly chuffed by it,  being segregated from our supporters in the outer,  in some smug way.  Feeling special for being inside the fence-line?

This demarcation line separates our own support base,  & the outer supporters are falling away.

 

Buy the way,  I love Tacos & Enchiladas.  The wave is fun,  being engaged in simple fun with the masses,  is also lot of fun.

 

What are the teams I fear? All of them, but especially Melbourne.

I don't go to the footy to listen to the dribble and nonsense that emanates from the mouths of Collingwood fans for instance. If we were to beat these teams occasionally, I think I could cope with it better. Fingers crossed we may be turning that corner.

I have enjoyed many a good Demons win from the MCC

I have paid a lot of hard earned $$ to sit in that seat for nearly 30 years

Red and Blue everywhere...

Hawthorn and North. We haven't beat either of them in a ridiculously long time. Hawthorn I can understand as they've been a top team for a long time. North on the other hand have been middle of the road and yet we still haven't pinch one off them for over 10 matches now.

Based on our last 10 years of form and our undoubted ability to disappoint.... All of them

I certainly do pd...  & I have had reserved seats on level 2 northern side,  & level 1 northern side for a number of years there.   And I definately know what the mcc members is like. 

And I knocked back a MCC membership in my teens.  when my name came up.  i like to go with mates & sit in the outer & breathe in the atmosphere.

 

I think those who are offended by a few choice jokes,  sayings,  banter,  or some mild profanity,  are far too serious in themselves.  the word precious come to mind.

 

and coincidentally our team has been just that,  'precious'  over the last 12 years,  probably 20 years or so.  =  fragile,  crumbles under heat.

 

Yes i know what its like,  but my aim is the inferior attitudes to running an AFL footy club,  which eeks from over there.    nothing personal against any north members, but our club is weak because of this deevide.

50 years is far too long to ignore this.

Stale bread,  you mean breadcrumbs,   before they're added into prepared foods? 

Fear is the wrong word for mine, I really think this is the year we will take a massive step up as a team. 

I just really wanna smash the druggies, north, dawks, meth coast, saints & carltank so bad for various reasons!! I think apart from a few bottom feeders & swans/dawks at the top end of the ladder, this season is pretty wide open & even. A little momentum & self belief will go a long way this year. Port, dogs, tigers & cats for example are being highly touted in some media outlets but I think they all have some glaring weaknesses in their sides.

This exactly.  I would add the Saints to that list as well.  The thing we really need to do as a team is put away the teams we should be beating.  Too often we drop the easy ones and it destroys all confidence and momentum.

A big part of last weeks win was the fact it was an interstate win. Normally we've conceded before we've boarded the plane.

Drug cheats. Round 2.

They are bringing back past players and doing a ´walk from fed square´ to show support for the club.

We would normally buckle under that pressure.

If we do buckle, we will be laughed at again, and will lose a heap of positive momentum.

Fingers crossed we have improved our mental resolve too.

I can accept after so many years of being further down the ladder than we'd like that a lot of we Demons  naturally gravitate to the idea of fear and losing.

Winners DONT fear losing. They accept it may be an outcome but they dont FEAR it. 

Winners relish the contest and look forward to the game. They anticipate the possibility of VICTORY

 

Thats where I am now.   Theres no team out there we cant beat. If you think otherwise  dont cross the white line onto the filed, why bother, youre already beaten.

 

I know its a new environment for many but desist with this notion we might be lucky to win this or that amount of games.  It's not luck, it's planning, training, development  and improvement.  Its by DESIGN.. The end game for all of that is WINNING 

 

Get used to it and throw that MFCSS  shlt in the nearest bin.
