Surely Ricgmond aren't going to give up a top 10 pick and $700,000 for Prestia. That would be complete madness. The recruiting staff need a medical check

I would happily pay 700G and a first rounder for Prestia.  They are talking a first rounder for Hibberd for gods sake (wont happen surely)

Prestia is a gun.  played full seasons for 3 years.  in 2014 had 13 brownlow votes and ave 27 touches. since then 7 and 14 games.  hardly injury riddled as some are saying (O'Meara is a different story)

he is only 23 and has many years ahead of him

Why wouldn't they exactly? Do you rate there list as good enough already? Apart from Martin, who will be 26 next year, what up and coming midfield stars do they have?

People have just taken it as fact that his knee is stuffed because he's having surgery on it. I get that there's a risk, but people aren't talking about Petracca in the same light.

None basically, and that's the point, that first pick they have should be used on young talent to kick start a re-build.

I don't believe they're in a position they should chase an injury prone prestia with such a large investment.

Personally i think they need to look at trading some stars, getting some good draft picks over the next 2-3 years and re-building the list.

if someone offered a first rounder for Deledio they'd have to take it surely.

The Tigers have no good talent under 26.  Prestia is exactly what they need in addition to draft picks

anyway fock them.  I still think and hope we are a good chance to land him.  its all talk at the moment

It's happened to Prestia a number of times.  It happened to Petracca once.  Bit of a difference.  I don't think his knee if 'stuffed', so to speak, I just think there is now considerable risk in trading for him, especially with him breaking down again at the end of this season.

Edit - Prestia will have missed 9 games this year and 15 last year.  That's a lot of time on the sidelines.  It doesn't mean he won't come good from there, but it's still with considerable risk.

Why would Prestia want to be at Richmond after last weekend's debacle? I agree with Adam that our odds have just shortened again.

$$$$$$

That in itself would be enough to make me jump.

Pick you up in 20 then.

That's if we're even interested.  I haven't really seen any concrete reports, other than speculation, that we are.

I suspect we've gone cold, which has reduced Prestia's options.

Agree, we seem well stocked with talent in and around the ball. Watching us lift our intensity in the 2nd quarter around the ball against the Suns, with Petracca, Brayshaw, Vandenberg, JV etc... all burrowing in and rolling the ball forward, we shall be scary good in this area as these boys mature (plus Clarry). I reckon if Prestia had come last year we wouldn't have taken Oliver, but as he didn't we need him less.

This Friday night,I'm going to do something very unusual for me.....barrack for Collingwood!!! I

If they slaughter Richmond by 100 points, surely it would dissuade Dion from going there, and make him think about going to his beloved Dees.

BUT......we better not look like a train wreck against  the Tassie Hawks.

Typo

I know Jaeger is a risk with his injury but the kid is a superstar.  If they get him fit he would instantly be our best mid.

I would love him at the Dees

The same was said about Scully's knee - seems to be running ok these days, unfortunately

This is Richmond we're talking about remember. Dimma will be out of a job by round 1 if it looks like they're doing a ground up rebuild. At least getting a gun 23 year old will look better and add more immediately than getting a kid.

There is a lemming barrier for unstable types like yourself.

Kind of you to offer to help Ethan end it all though Stu.

You've ditched the PC sensitive new age schtick in favour of a more progressive way forward for humanity.

Because that's what got them into the mess they are currently in.

5 players x 7-800 thousand a year. The rest on a pittance.

Prestia at 700k or two at 400k.

You could argue they have to pay the money to someone, article on FB today about player movement, Carlton quoted as saying "yes we'd love Omera but would rather two players at 400k instead". Prestia might give the Richmond faithful the big fish they have so desperately wanted but is not the answer long term if he comes at such a high price. Plus how does the deal get done?

I'm not sure how we would get Hibberd, Prestia and Hurley in the one year, especially without a first-round 2016 draft pick.

2 as drugged free agents, and 1 with next year's first pick.

Fully fit he's the best of his generation of very good players. If fit Id take him in a heartbeat over Prestia. On another level and probably cost around the same. Hopefully there's a way for the Medico's to know for sure if he can recover or not. Otherwise you wouldn't touch him.

The AFL salary cap is $10.6 million, would wager most clubs would have close to 5-6 players on 7-800k.

Plus they did that with mostly older players didn't they? They need younger top level talent, Prestia is that.

That means the average for the rest of a team is about $200K.  Unlikely, given the AFL average is $320k.

Wager lost, I think Stuie!!

I doubt we have any on 700-800k, yet.
