Don't think anyone enjoys this type of waffle. His ranting about nothing

Apologies for actually attempting to explain the reasoning behind my position. I guess I should just cave and become a sniper like most of you cool cats.. It's just so easy it seems lazy, anyone can one line snipe without having any sort of huspa of their own to put forward.

Wish I could spot you types out in the members, oh that's right - I can.. You're the ones who keep yelling out "kick the bloody thing" & "MAN UP DEES".. lol

Sorry I feel dirty after just one mini snipe, your right - hibernation time indeed!

Lol for years Nudge has made demonlanders look stupid in believing his dribble..

Can't wait to sit back and enjoy this.

You are a sad sack.

Go away.

I love Nudge, GNF, Chilliboy. This is their time.

Surely Collingwood should receive fines/sanctions for encouraging a player to undergo surgery whilst still on another club's list and no certainty to end up on their own.

Highly questionable conduct.

Geez nudge, yr a cross patch aren't you?

We've been working to try and land a 'big fish' for three straight off-seasons. for the last two, we've failed. three times tried, three times failed will be a pretty black stain under mahoney's watch, particularly when everyone thinks we've paid significant 'overs' for melksham (i personally think it's a neither here nor there trade; proof will be in the pudding), and now we look like being rolled by the pies with the Howe transaction.

North are copying what Hawks and Swans have done for years. They have identified what they need and are paying pick 15 for a known quantity with a few years on the clock that they will get more out of than a draftee. They have an ageing list of stars and want a crack at a flag. Anderson provides the outside run and speed they lack. If Wells and Anderson both play well next year and their older players stand up they will see themselves as a genuine chance.

I think it's a good strategy and they have the footy IP to judge Anderson. Draft picks are hugely over rated. There was a recent article that said you've got just as good a chance of a player at 40 as 15.

I'm not at all concerned about Melksham at 25. You've got to back your IP to make the right moves. It's what's made Hawks so successful.

Top post.

Sorry but how the hell is it Mahoney's fault we are still trying to come out of our basket?

I reckon he is working his arse off to get a deal done, his fault these flogs want to go to Colligwood, Geelong, Hawks etc??

Indeed. Mahoney has gone from 'one of the best footy dept guys' to a black stain in less than a week. Makes no sense at all.

There is a team of people who's jobs are to get talent to the club. The club is putting its head out of our basket for the first time in years, we are still not a club a lot of players let alone top end talent wants to come to. F them as I feel like we will be a very good side in 2-3 years.

Makes no sense indeed. If anything Mahoney sounds like hes doing a fine job considering the trade we had lined up with the Suns to get us pick 3.

Its not his or anyone elses fault that Howe wants to play for the Filth.

This sort of reductionist, juvenile and ignorant nonsense really does degrade demonland. Always dross amongst the diamonds I guess.

Yes, play on words re baby and bath water but if a liberal puss take but perhaps it's too slick.. Haha!

Take a stab? Well considering the club has those players in its sights isn't a stab as such, just a scope of the players were talking to. I'd say Gaff or Prestia most likely, and Parker not Hannebury my mistake - jet lag issue there I'm afraid, I'll edit if can be bothered, it's 5pm here in NYC & I'm feeling "meh"..

The negativity is tiring, I hate the whole "wow is me, I'm the only suffering dees supporter, Wah Wah bloody WAH"... This current administration and footy dept hasn't done a thing poorly just yet so I'm not willing to smash them for past people's mistakes.. PJ, Goody, Roosy, McCartney, Mahoney - I like the vision and happen to blv in them with a high level of trust! Bartlett is a schrude operator too, trust me. Demons supporters, it's the rainy days and long winters that make the sunshine such a powerful, emotive experience - so enjoy the climb back - may be sooner than you think, or it may take 3-4 years.. Ask a dogs supporter this time last year how they FELT about the direction, total disarray this exact day last year - id list the amount of reasons but can't be bothered.. But that's footy!

Hogan will re sign, have a crack at the JC with 60+ Goals, We'll share another 2-3 great players all of whom will be best 22 and have a role to play, Tyson will finish top 10 brownlow, Petracca will win the NAB RS or go close, kick 30 goals.. And who knows - we may even pull off Prestia & Pick 3 for Howe, first rounder next year and pick 6

But I didn't say that.. Lol (it's far more likely to be Howe & 6 for Dion only.. ☺️)

I'm out.

Bloody beautiful Nudge. If you just tell me who wins the Caulfield Cup in an hour or so I'll be stoked. Maybe Set Square?

I much prefer Nudge's ramblings then read the oh-so-plausible trade deals that posters concoct.

'Yeah, we can get 3 2nd rounders from GWS to give to GC to get the points to be eligible for Australian Idol if the bachelorette has an Academy player they won't relinquish...'

Didn't know where else to put this, so I'll put it here - looks like that 4 team deal between us, Port, the Pies and Adelaide is still moving ahead. The deal seems a little confusing but it sounds like we would lose Howe and Toumpas and gain two second rounders and Ben Kennedy... if that's what happens.

"PORT Adelaide is in a four-club negotiation over a mega deal that would not only deliver Demon Jimmy Toumpas to Alberton but also arm the club ahead of further negotiations for the Gold Coast’s Charlie Dixon.

Discussions are continuing over a complex deal which is set to deliver Toumpas to Port, Ben Kennedy from Collingwood to Melbourne, Jeremy Howe from Melbourne to Collingwood and Paul Seedsman from Collingwood to Adelaide.

The Crows are understood to have offered pick 32 for Seedsman, and that pick is a key to the negotiations. It is likely to be passed on to Port, which would give up two draft picks for Toumpas and No. 32 and then be in a position to continue its haggling with the Suns over Dixon.

The Power has already put pick No. 10 on the table for Dixon, but the Gold Coast’s stance is that it needs something else to bring to the party

The deal, which still hinges on some tweaking to come off, would involve several exchanges of second and third round selections between the club so that all four clubs are satisfied that they have improved their position from the transactions

I've read this Wiseblood and it's a little confusing. Do you know what the two 2nd rounders are? Would we be trading them down (don't even know if that's the term)?

It sounds like the Crows give up Pick 32 for Seedsman, which will in turn end up back at Port. The article then says we will get two picks for Toumpas, so I'm not sure if that means they trade their second and third rounder for him. The Pies get Howe and we get Kennedy... but, to me, that's not a fair swap at all, so possibly the Pies give us a second rounder as well. I'm only speculating though.

If we traded Howe and Toumpas and ended up with Kennedy and 3 second round picks then I could live with that, bit it may not work out that way.

You would think Collingwood would give us a second rounder......bit shaky though

Here are the 2nd round picks currently held by the three other teams in the reported trade

Pick 26. Collingwood

Pick 28. Adelaide

Pick 29. Port Adelaide

Pick 32. Adelaide

I think, in that deal, we get Pick 26 and 28 at the least. We get a third rounder as well from somewhere, possibly Port going by the notion that they trade 2 picks for him, and we also end up with Kennedy.

I think the bonus for us is that we have 2 second rounders to use, either in other trades or in the draft to go with Pick 6. We still have Bugg on our radar, although I'd assume we go with a third rounder there, and there may be other things that pop up next week.
