Milera's also got very good awareness in traffic and doesn't waste many disposals. If anything he needs to learn to not get sucked into stoppages and give himself a bit more space to use his speed on the outside.

A problem i have these days is i DONT rate the SANFL as much chop...so Im wary of SA players

Some years back I would have put the SANFL as the next strongest league to the AFL.. Now..I dont think so..

So you have the age old problem...yeah these lads are ok at that level...but are often exposed when trying to step up.

I acknowledge however that argument holds true for a lot more than just SA

the problem isn't the sanfl. its the afl's congestion & rotations, blzb... there is NO time, & always under pressure with this rotation based congestion of blocking space, instead of playing on a man.

many players and kids have had their careers ruined & ended sometimes before it got going by this scourge on our game.

much talent is still in SA.

Always has been, but our game has gotten out of control, or rather under too much control. so there's less room for creativeness, & more hard work running to spaces... boring football.

Dee-luded...that may well be the case but what to me it is saying SANFL is playing last century footy. Personally i prefer it. Much bettet game to watch. Players flourish in space and time. AFL needs to revert at least partially to this and possibly the new rotation limits might go somewhere towards that. But right at the moment the SA game, for mine , doesn't prepare players well fir the AFL. Not that that ought be their intent. Just what is.

It used to be that time pkaying at senior level , against real blokes, would galvanise the young talent and give them an advantage when being looked upon for the AFL. I now think it works against them.

Most youngens from SA that HAVE kicked on...didnt play much or ANY senior footy it seems to me.

Bump!

Given the intrigue of this year's draft I'm just bumping this, just in case all this draft pick manoeuvring was to secure Milera, thinking that Gold Coast were going to take him at 3/6.

It's less likely but a possibility and it's another area we need help (outside class).

I'm not sold on these classy outside types anymore, not to say he couldn't be an absolute star, but I'd play it safer and go for a more contested style type of player with our early picks...

    TRAINING: Wednesday 22nd January 2025

    Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force for training at Gosch's Paddock on Wednesday morning for the MFC's School Holidays Open Training Session. DEMONLAND'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS REHAB: TMac, Chandler, McVee, Tholstrup, Brown, Spargo Brown might have passed his fitness test as he’s back out with the main group.  Sparrow not present. Kozzy not present either.  Mini Rehab group has broken off from the match sim (contact) group: Max, Trac, Lever, Fullarton

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

    Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on.     There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training.     A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
