I think treloar should be our no1 target. Pay him what he wants 800k/900k the kid is an absolute jet. Our first pick and Howe would have to beat anything the pies are offering. Get it done. Also what ever happened to sipposs from the Saint from memory he had a good kick on him. Big wraps on him a couple of years ago

Has anyone got any mail on why we haven't even been mentioned in the same sentence as Treloar by the media?

The talk is Collingwood is almost a done deal, and that North Melbourne and Richmond are also really involved with big offers.

Did Treloar tell us he's not interested and not to waste our time?

We must have so much money. I'm really surprised not to have heard we've made a big offer.

Because we're irrelevant...

Bullcrap!

We have more upside than North or Richmond.

Just ask Brayshaw Petracca and Gawn, three youngsters who have extended their contracts.

I don't know why players are keen to join the filth. They are treading water and other clubs will be on the up quicker than them.

They've taken a hit in recent years by trading away some decent players but what they got in return will see them back up the ladder in no time.

Couldn't agree less. Have done a substantial rebuild yet nobody has realized. Have a gun coach. Why wouldn't you want to join them.

I would take our list over theirs if I was Treloar.

Sidebottom is an excellent 3rd/4th mid, Frost will be a very good defender, Adams is good DeGoey could be good. But really what else do they have aside from small flankers?

I thought I'd read that because of salary cap problems that a few hadn't had contracts extended.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

He signed an extension last year until end of 2017.

In the past a mid 2nd rounder would be worth little to GWS as they might not even use it, or for another team its a roll of the dice that someone you rate as a first rounder slips through.

Now it has serious value for GWS and some others (this year at least) because it might significantly reduce the ongoing cost of an academy player even though there's no players you actually really like at that stage of the draft anyway (this year at least).

So Tomlinson for our 2nd rounder most years would be a carp offer, but this year it would look very appealing to GWS.

So in that way, the northern academies can really work in our favour, if we're smart.

Just saying.

Love the idea of Tomlinson btw.

Don't forget the pact......Tomlinson is in it.

What about Treloar?

Added to that, managers love linking their clients to Collingwood, apparently just a mention of the "wealthiest" may raise the value or asking price. At least thats on theory, no clue if it holds any merit... >.<

Close: The Herald Sun put the Pies (and the Tiges) in the article for every player on the move. Click bait for the website and an extra 10,000 copies sold. Fact.

That said, the Pies do seem to be genuinely in the race for Treloar. Aish, no chance.

I would take our list over theirs if I was Treloar.

Adams, DeGoey, Broomhead, Crisp, Elliott, Freeman, Grundy, Kennedy, Langdon, Marsh, Maynard, Moore, Scharenberg, Willams.

I reckon they have a lot to work with. Each to their own. And that doesn't address the 9 years of "rebuilds" we've had and Treloar would have every right to doubt this one. Plus Collingwood is a much better brand than MFC and playing in front of 60,000+ at the G most weeks would have it's attractions.

I know if it was my son who'd I'd suggest if I was impartial.

I gather the offer of a bad tasting fish is not a good one ;)

I can see the Pies regretting that big time in October 2016 when Aish has spudded it up iand they have no first rounder to use

Yep, Treloar is a gun but I would be very hesitant on compromising future drafts for Aish.

Bullcrap!

Upside means nothing until we start winning more games. North and Richmond are competitive and beating top four sides. We aren't.

I dont think aish is going to get to collingwood, simply because brisbane will demand overs to make a point after the beams thing

SEN reporting he's chosen the Tigers.

If true sucked in to anyone associated with the Collingwood football club in any capacity.

Big get for Richmond if true. Can't believe we were never identified as a possible club who were interested.

Having no idea at all personally, I would say we definitely would have enquired and enquired hard about Adam.

I'd rather us being stealth about these sort of things rather than public about it as the last thing we want is to hear "the dees are in to player x, player y and player z" and then get none of them. Doesn't sound great.

I still have faith we will jag a big fish from somewhere.

If nothing else I've just unloaded about 25 text messages to 3 of my mates. 2 Collingwood and 1 Richmond. A as Dees member I get so much joy out of the little things.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Gold Coast

On Friday, the Demons return to our Casey Fields fortress where they have a 77% win rate. The scent of September is in the air and the struggling Suns are on the horizon. The Cranbourne weather forecast? Ominous, like the match itself: a strong chance of carnage. Let’s be honest, last week’s first half against the West Coast was a training drill but we dropped our guard in the final quarter. While this match is a mismatch on paper — second versus seventeenth — football is won in the wind, the contests, and the moments.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #32 Tom Sparrow

The rugged Sparrow’s career appears to have plateaued in recent years. He makes the side on a week to week basis but he is unable to establish a foothold in the team’s midfield and arguably performs best outside of the contest in a forward position without being a goal kicker. He remains a good honest foot soldier but is not a star.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #33 Tom Fullarton

Fullarton managed a couple of games in the first half of the season but soon found himself back in the VFL. There, he found a niche at centre half back but it was not enough to retain a place on the list at season’s end.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #35 Harrison Petty

Entering 2025, it looked as if Petty would be secured in a defensive position, but plans shifted and he spent more time forward, averaging just over a goal per game throughout the season. It remains uncertain which area of the ground he will be expected to cover under the new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The dynamic small forward, possessing an innate ability to generate excitement with his explosive play around the goals, successfully transitioned into a role that afforded him more time in the midfield. The club also negotiated a long-term deal with Pickett, thereby eliminating any prospect of a move west by their star young player.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #37 Kade Chandler

For a few years now, he has been a reliable, hard working pressure forward, but in 2025, Chandler elevated his performance, becoming an integral component of the team with enough versatility to play effectively on a wing from time to time.
