If we beat the pies I will ...

Here are some quotes from the Magpie forum;

"What happens if we lose this game.. dear god.."

"Oxley was the difference the last time we played melbourne, but i think he has lost his credits now and must be dropped."

"We are no certainties to beat Melbourne next weekend"

not overly confident!

Forgetting a certain bloke who finally learnt to kick straight?

... wake up on Saturday morning from a pleasant dream.

Blame it on jimmy toumpas

press "like" on one of picket fence's posts.

Crazy stuff! I might too.

The tough, hypothetical question has to be asked: If you were told the only way we could beat Collingwood is if you were to "like" one of Picket Fence's posts, could you do it?

Trust Biffen to make a tasteless remark and attempt to derail a serious thread.

Indeed! I had to sit down and have a strong cuppa tea.

Yes

No. Our season is shot. Sorry, can't do it.

Did that work for Hird od?

He is still there with a multi $million contract.

Not exactly a flop.

So you are not " whatever it takes"?

"We take whatever" is the 2016 motto.

"We take whatever" is the 2016 motto.

Very good Biff and it could be a rolling slogan just need to change the year number every twelve months.

Make a major ($2.00) donation to the Collingwood FC suicide fund....

i'll be happy for about 10 minutes, then start lamenting the lost opportunity of the last 3 weeks, and worry about them failing to back it up for the next 5 weeks

..... I will forget the last 3 weeks ever happened and get excited again.

Then we will get thumped by North and lose to Carlton and it will be back to square one again. That would be so Melbourne.

Would take me 24 hours beating the Pies in 2015 is as close as we will get to a flag.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
