The Jack Viney Made Me Cry Thread

Featured Replies

Not sure what your're alluding to, but he could not have handled himself any better on the Sunday Footy Show. Well rounded, confident and humble. Stumbles over his words occasionally but who cares? He'll get better at that. He's a very impressive young fella. Exactly the type you'd want representing your club in the public eye.

Let's not forget that Taylor Walker is a captain and thought to be leading the club brilliantly. If he's considered acceptable, I think JV will be just fine.

I agree wholeheartedly P-Man.

A lot is said abut Hogan but Jack Viney is turning into a star before our eyes, hes playing phenomenal footy and opponents are scared any time hes in the vicinity. He can shutdown a superstar and hes also improved his attacking footy the last couple of months. (hes had a shot on goal the last 6 games and 7 of the last 8).

A big chance for the Bluey despite unfortunately missing 6 games!

If I was going to make a call now

Hard to say whether Dunny or Cross will feature in the top 5, Would love to see Viney take it out, think back to his games against Joel Selwood, Gary Ablett and Jack Steven he has had a great season.

You know I looked at this and thought, of all the comics I've read, surely there's one where Batman got some sort of flying power.

I can think of at least two, but they're non-canonical.

Not that canon means much to DC these days.

So.... That Jack Viney. That's some tackler there.

I wonder if Jack Viney can punch through a barrier of reality and retcon our drafting history?

Lamashtu? Where does JV fiddling with our draft history fit?

Obviously Nathan Jones would be the T-5000, the living embodiment of Skynet. His mission is to corrupt the leader of the future Melbourne premiership team, Angus Brayshaw, into a T-3000. He then corrupts an entire team of VFL-spec players into believing they are capable of being AFL-spec and winning more than 4 games in one season. Of course this doesn't factor in the time-travelling subplot where Simon Goodwin returns to 2011 and makes copies of Essendon's drugs program spreadsheets, before Vlad can tip them off.

Tackle of the year, by anyone.

Geez that is a brutal tackle, and I absolutely love it.

I have said a couple of times this year, but Jack's season has been excellent. I love the way he goes about it and I expect him to finish top 3 to 5 in the B&F

I love the look on Weller's face when he looks down at the ground afterwards. Looks like he is thinking to himself "Why the f@#k did I just try to do that?"

Toms had a poor 2nd half of the year but I reckon would've been leading the B&F prior to the pies, I would say 5th would be between himself, Dunn, Cross, and maybe Brayshaw. Would love to see Gawn heading the to pointy end of the B&F but I think his run will have been left too late.

Tackle of the year, by anyone.

If there's been a better tackle ever, I don't remember it.

Dawes against Adelaide last year.

That was excellent, but I still think Viney's was much better.

I love it that he tried the dont argue armstretch!.......Yup, Jack didnt argue!

Does anyone know the format of the B&F count? If points are awarded to every player when they play that will not do Jack any good. If it's top 6 getting votes he could well surprise. He's been outstanding in my view.

No duty of care.

I know......don't you love it?! :)

He cared. He cared about getting our ball back,.

He cared. He cared about getting our ball back,.

and about making the bloke in the other colour jumper experience pain. These are Viney's only interests.

I know......don't you love it?! :)

Yeah .... I do.

Love to see him get Dustin Martin the same way.

I love Viney, but I'm disappointed Brent Harvey didn't make an appearance in this thread after last week. Please act in the public interest, Jack.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
