2015 apparent out of contract players merged with targets at seasons end

would have loved him 2 years back. why by at the top of the market?

would have loved Boak 5 yrs back, when I wanted us to chase him. 2009ish

& vickery as well, is it too late? a good prospect for power forward/2ndruck. the boy is starting to mature.

I think a GUN player like Dangerfield or Boak would be of more value at present - as opposed to 2009.

As good a player as Nathan Jones is, and as promising as Tyson often looks. They would be better players not having to carry the load.

If we could get a Dangerfield/Boak type player, Nathan Jones could play second fiddle. At present Jones shoulders too much of the midfield.

Just an update on Josh Kelly...

Played NEAFL on the weekend - again.

36 touches, 21 kicks and 3 goals.

This is coming off of 39 touches, 12 tackles and a goal.

Kid is in red hot form. I know he is contracted at years end, but so was Boyd.

I wonder if GWS would be tempted by our first pick and Jeremy Howe?

Surely they wouldn't let him go? He's a super talent and will be part of their midfield for the next 10 years. If we could steal him after all this time it would be very ironic. 2+9+Josh Kelly :P

The only thing going for us is that he is Christian Salems BFF.. thats about it..

Oh and they both play alot of FIFA together??

Look at shiels stats and games this year, he's that good..

Have a look at his repeat efforts in the Carlton game to - there was one play, may have been the first quarter where he got the ball in defensive 50, gave it off sprinted to run past the player he'd just kicked to through the middle, got the ball back, sprinted forward and then gave repeat efforts inside 50 to lock the ball in. He was knackered by the end of that sequence but never stopped having a go and trying to impact the next contest. He has that frenetic attack on the ball and cocontest, the gut running and goal kicking ability we desperately need.

Impressive stats but it is only the NEAFL.

Think it would take considerably more than that.

How about Devon Smith? This guy is an absolute [censored] and always gets under the skin of the opposition. Very good player as well. He would not be considered in their A list and so might be able to be secured for a reasonable offer.

This type of nasty player is what we have been lacking for too long. Definitely not a choir boy.

Thoughts?

Andrew Moore from Port would be a decent pick up.

havent noticed him much mainly because I haven't seen Port that often.

Whats he like?

I'd like Zac Smith, Charlie Dixon, Stephen Coniglio, Dylan Shiel and Adam Treloar. Thanks very much. Sincerely, Adam.

I agree with the others, but not Vickery. Not to mention, a bloody ordinary player and a bloody ordinary bloke.

what do you know that I don't, or others don't?

Open up the cheque book and throw massive deals at Josh Kelly and Dion Prestia

Time for :roos: to land us some serious midfield guns before he rides off into the sunset

I'd like Zac Smith, Charlie Dixon, Stephen Coniglio, Dylan Shiel and Adam Treloar. Thanks very much. Sincerely, Adam.

Well Zac Smith has gone so that is one midfielder less on your list!

Impressive stats but it is only the NEAFL.

Which is where we recruited vandeBerg from (in the Rookie draft).

Note: this post refers to Josh Kelly (No. 1 draft pick).

They've tied him to a long deal and no hope of prizing him away from GWS.

I'd give Jonathon Griffin a fat pay cheque to come over from Freo. He's killing in in the WAFL, just can't crack into that side with sandilands.

Any and all of these would be handy:

Adelaide: Richard Douglas (UFA), Patrick Dangerfield (RFA), Rory Sloane, Cameron Ellis-Yolmen, Matthew Wright, Mitchell Grigg, Rory Laird, Sam Kerridge, Matt Crouch, Brodie Martin, Jake Kelly

Brisbane: Jed Adcock (UFA), Matthew Leuenberger (RFA), James Aish

Carlton: Matthew Kreuzer (RFA), Patrick Cripps, Lachie Henderson, Andrejs Everitt (trigger clause)

Collingwood: Jamie Elliott, Tom Langdon, Paul Seedsman, Adam Oxley

(Caveat emptor on these ones obviously - Essendon: Brent Stanton (UFA), Jake Carlisle, Will Hams, Elliott Kavanagh, Jake Melksham, Jackson Merrett, Tayte Pears)

Fremantle: Jonathon Griffen, Matthew De Boer, Tommy Sheridan, Zac Clarke, Hayden Crozier, Matthew Taberner, Michael Apeness, Alex Pearce

Geelong: Steve Johnson (UFA), Matthew Stokes (UFA), Tom Hawkins (RFA), Billie Smedts, Jake Kolodjashnij, Darcy Lang, Dawson Simpson?, Josh Cowan, Jordan Murdoch?, Cameron Guthrie?, Nathan Vardy, Steven Motlop, George Horlin-Smith, Josh Walker?, Jackson Thurlow, Mark Blicavs

Gold Coast: Zac Smith, Daniel Gorringe, Rory Thompson, Henry Schade, Charlie Dixon, Michael Rischitelli, Jesse Lonergan, Adam Saad

GWS: Stephen Coniglio, Dylan Shiel, Tomas Bugg, Nathan Wilson, Adam Treloar, Will Hoskin-Elliott

Hawthorn: Taylor Duryea?, James Sicily, Liam Shiels, Will Langford, Jonathon Simpkin?, Jed Anderson

North Melbourne: Sam Wright, Aaron Mullett, Daniel Currie, Luke McDonald

Port Adelaide: Kane Mitchell, Matthew Broadbent, John Butcher, Andrew Moore

Richmond: Alex Rance (UFA), Ben Lennon

Sydney: Lloyd Perris

West Coast: Scott Selwood (I thought he was a free agent?), Dominic Sheed

Western Bulldogs: Mitch Wallis, Liam Picken

Absolutely no chance.

Classy mid with good skills. Played his juniors as a forward.

Highly rated by Port, but has been kept out due to injuries.

I would throw our second rounder at him in a heart beat.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
