Some are concerned his tackles are going from 1.4 to 1.2 (which is approx. 3 tackles over 13 rounds).  That's the level of debate provided by some.  Ever checked the numbers of nearly all the great key forwards ?

But let's get the facts straight.  In the first 13 games Hogan played last year he made 13 tackles.  In the first 13 games this year he's made 18.  So even the point that was being made is factually incorrect.  He's made 5 more tackles this year from the same amount of games.

Hogan is the best young talent to come the club in 40 years, but naturally enough there are those who would rather concern themselves about his perceived lack of pressure in the forward 50.  Of all the things to dwell on they think a hulking 195cm forward could apply more defensive pressure.

It's about 77 on the list of things you could highlight or be concerned about.  Jeff Garlett being down an average of one tackle per game is of more concern, because that's a strong part of the role of a small forward.

It's unfathomable, this guy is the greatest talent I've seen at the club with the exception of pre-knees Schwarz. Are people just trying to pre-emptively talk themselves down from a ledge in case he does the unthinkable and decides to leave?

And in the post above you question his "work rate".  His work rate is superb.  The ground he covers for a key forward is superb and acknowledged by all paid to analyse the game.

He's constantly providing opportunities for others and I repeat has an exceptional work rate.

Great post - how anyone can question his workrate with the amount of ground he covers is beyond me. Sometimes I wonder whether I'm watching the same games as others.

Hi

Graphic Interface Format.

Is a type of digital image . Less 'heavy' than JPEGs.

Avail as static or animated.

There's a wonderful invention Red called Google. It can be your friend :P

Hahahaha contract should be reduced... that's hilarious.

Jesse Hogan is the wet dream of 17 other coaches, the most talented young forward in the comp by a mile and doing things no other forward in the history of the game has done at his age.

we will pay him whatever we have to if it means keeping him because he's just that good.

this is our Wayne Carey 2.0

Invest further, heavily, in this rare investment and get Ox, Neita, or even Dunstall or (God forbid) the Dive Bomber to spend a lot of time with him learning then perfecting how to kick set shots. Any sum would be worth it.  As much time as he needs. Just do it.

I dgaf about stats, gifs, memes (but the discussion is excellent and I like the gifs)

I just want his signature! Now! Tomorrow! Get it done!

If we can offer Danger the sort of money we apparently did then surely we can pay Jesse whatever he's asking for.

I understand the importance of not selling out our future for one player but surely the club has been expecting Jesse to demand a huge contract for a long time and has been planning accordingly to allow us to keep him.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
