In the last 2 weeks from sets shots he's kicked 2.5 and 4 that failed to score. 2 shots out of 11 is a horrible ratio. He needs to fix his kicking or he becomes nothing more than an average player sucking up to much salary cap.

Value has dropped further today, starting to look as if trading a first rounder would be out of the question,  for someone who can't kick the ball over a jam tin, and appears to be suffering from illusions of grandeur.

It's delusions.  If you're going to troll you could at least look like you know what you're talking about.

The guys a footy monster....but honestly, set kicks like godzilla

3 behinds from 4 shots when we were still in the game is not good enough.  Today another opposition spud(Redpath) out scored him again.

2.6 over two weeks isn't good enough from any forward. Kicking needs work, or something is off. He kicked 7.1 only a couple of weeks ago.

He kicked seven goals under the roof of Etihad.

His kicking lacks penetration and is therefore far more likely to be impacted by even the slightest breeze.

A million dollar forward wouldn't miss the ones that Jesse does.

He does need to work on his run up. "It's the ball drop!!!" I hear you scream.

The run up is different every single time. His ball drop is variable because of it. He needs to come in off 5 or 7 paces instead of a Wes Hall pushing off the sightscreen run up.

He can't reliably kick more than 40 metres, another thing a million dollar forward should be able to do.

and yet strangely  like  his footy cousin Cloke   has a good action and penetration when in play...its set shots that are rubbish

makes you wonder iin a sense ( perhaps not ) why our post Neeld  recruiting team have targeted some decent forwards who CAN kick

Maybe Hogans future isnt as we think

That miss from 30 in front in the 3rd was simply inexcusable and there were plenty of supporters today that gave him an absolute serve for it.

I am Gob smacked by the number of times the Dogs throw the ball in close and get a free's for wriggle down once the tackle has been applied. disgraceful.

And thats got to do with Hogan because....?

This critcism is rubbish.

It seems Jesse went homethis week for personal  family reasons.  In that case he did damn well today.

Judge him at the end of the year not week by week!

Compare his horrid run up today to his debut against Gold Coast last year.

Still had a slight stutter but the big difference for me is he wasn't holding the ball over his left foot like he does now.

No  Ill bloody well judge him on what hes supposed to be doing kick goals...and in the open hes not that marvelous at it and had no consistency.  Hes really good at involving himself in the game . His subtle pays are gold but his goal kicking  meh .

All of his "points " were unachievable as goals ....I offer evidence in one JW. He can kick

A bit of overreaction going on here. Yes his shots at goal were very poor, but he actually played a decent game of footy otherwise. 10 of his 17 possies were contested, took 9 marks, 5 contsted (team high) and led our score assists with 4.

Remind me how many games he has played again? Give him a spell FFS

The Hogan's hero's segment at one of the breaks is a absolute disgrace.

    TRAINING: Friday 28th February 2025

A couple of Demonland Trackwatchers headed down to Gosch's Paddock to bring you their observations from today's training session before the Demons head off to Perth for their final Practice Match. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Beautiful morning, not much wind, more than a couple of dozen spectators.  The players were up and about, boisterous and having fun. One of their last drills were three teams competing in a hard at it, handball game in a small area. Goody

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
