GAME DAY - Anzac Eve Game vs Tigers

I lose every single time I bet, so I will do everyone a favour and not back the dees

So...you're backing Richmond? :P

Bet on the Tigers... that way if we win we have you to thank and if we lose, you at least get a little something to ease the guilt you would no doubt be experiencing over betting on them to win.

Hoping for more than 70,000...

That would all but guarantee the fixture will continue next year.

Hoping most of our supporters rock up. We know Richmond's will.

Tigers $1-28

Dees $3-45

hmmm. Worthy a little punt this week

I'd get on Melbourne at that price, but I've never had a successful bet on the Dees so I won't put the jinx on!

We're 4th in the comp for tackles whereas Richmond are 15th. We will be too tough for the tiges. Can't wait!

Benny Gale said they're hoping for 50-55k and 60k would be a "great" result. If the rain holds out hopefully we can get 60k and put in a good show.

geeze i'm pumped for this

Bodies on the line tonight

Friday Night. Heard the late night jocks on SEN last night say "We deserve a better game"

I am sick of these wankerss scorning my club

Make it a classic.

No excuses.

The diggers went when it was their turn....

I don't want a classic game, I hope we win by 10 goals.

The way that you turn on your own, they sure as hell wouldn't have wanted you in the trenches with them WYL!

Ha gold, as an ex loved it, he would have been one of those who shot himself in the foot

This should be good for another 2 or 3 pages.

Football is just a game........War isn't....Please don't compare the two....

huh?

You must have never watched the tv coverage, they do a respectful job of covering the ceremonies before the game, but the ads and the commentators do the comparison to death unfortunately

Then I suggest you don't watch 7's coverage of either tonight or tomorrow

Sorry Saty.......I was having a go at WYL........About the "diggers going when it was their turn"

I get a bit touchy around this time of the year.

You have no idea what i have been thru Satyr....

WYL - you and I have been around these threads long enough to know that I was making a tounge-in-cheek comment I hope. Apologies if I offended.

I am in no way comparing.

The only way tonight's game can honour the soldiers of past conflict is to "go" when it is the time to go.

Football is a controlled war.

The real thing is pure chaos

Lest we Forget...

My comment was not aimed at you Billy....

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
