We've never won after Darwin and the last time we beat St Kilda the Concordes were still flying from London to New York (2002).

I recall a pretty good win against the Saints in '06.

When was the last time we beat the reigning premiers? Was it in 1988 when we beat Carlton in the PF?

Brisbane 2002?

Sydney 06 at SCG when Rivers gave away a late 50 to nearly cost us the game. 2006 was a year where a lot of these hoodoos were set.

There's also Essendon 1994 when Lyon kicked 7 on Glenn Manton plus 2002 when we beat the Lions at the GABBA.

Here's one:

If we win one of the last 3 games for the year, we will finish the season having not lost 3 consecutive games at any point.

We haven't done that since 1998, believe it or not.

When was the last time we went into round 21 still a mathematical chance of making the finals (although it is a very slim chance)! It is nice to have not been discussing the trade period for the last 2 months.

Whens our last win over Port?  And over Port in SA?

Last win over them was Round 17, 2011 in Darwin - lost the last 7.

Last win over them in Adelaide was Round 8, 2000 - lost the last 11 to them in Adelaide.

Surprisingly, 2010.

Worst losing margin in 2010 was 56.

2010, I think.

With three rounds to go in 2010 we were 8-1-10. Win them all, we would have finished with 11.5 wins. Carlton finished 8th in the end on just 11 wins so I guess that means were were still in it at this point in the season.

Going back a bit but I remember us beating the Hawks at Princes Park on a rainy day in 1989.It was the last time I ever went there as I thought the place was a sh*thole.

Big chance to knock another couple off this week. 3 in a row + Port + Port in Adelaide.

I'm just so stoked that we've got over the Hawthorn hurdle, surely next year the St Kilda one has to be smashed into the ground.

And didn't we also beat Hawthorn at Princes Park (reigning premiers) in mid 1987 when we were about 4-7 at the time. Must have been a memorable win considering we were still considered a mediocre to bad side at the time.

And smash the North hoodoo as well, particularly if we play them at the G next year.

Another 3 (random) hoodoos to smash:

1) Never won an away game at night V's Port Adelaide....ever.

2) Haven't beaten Carlton on a Sunday since 2007

3) Haven't beaten Geelong on a Saturday since 2005

This list is getting out of hand.  If we keep on winning you blokes will have to go for records like "Since 1988 we haven't beaten Sydney at the SCG on a day when a north westerly was blowing until half-time after which it swung around to an easterly."

I look forward to that.

We've been pretty competitive v. Port on the Adelaide Oval, though we haven't beaten them there yet.

The first AFL game there (?2012 or 2013) we lost by about a point, but we actually won. The home town bias of the umpires that day was beyond belief.

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best.
