That's interesting.

Wonder how much truth there is to it considering Toumpas in my eyes is a very similar player in terms of attributes. They're very similar in size too.

The only difference is the way in which they've been handled from when they were drafted.

Aish plays with confidence.

Toumpas doesn't. Yet.

Spot on.

I posted pretty much the exact same thing a couple of weeks ago. It makes me think that there is still hope for Toumpas to become better than most expect him to be.

Wouldn't get hopes up, Aish is pretty much at Adelaide with the freed up Danger dollars. If that backfires only then we could be a chance?

Depends. Still have to find a deal to satisfy Brisbane. Aish is not a free agent. At this stage it'd be an early first round pick and a player* you would think.

Yarran is interesting, like others I think he has a tendency to be a little lazy, not so much soft as just not liking the way he is coached. If you could get on his right side he could be a real weapon. We have few other players that could match his pace and skills. Interesting times ahead.

Garlett was a steal, but Mick wanted him gone and he may want Yarran gone too if he doesn't play to instructions, but he's no guarantee to be coach in 2016.

* a good player not the usual DL party bag of potential delisted players.

Cant remember if it has been mentioned by Yarren signed a contract extension last year till the end of 2016. Happy for him to break it though.

Love the talk of Aish though. If he's keen to come to Victoria there is always a home at Melbourne :)

Would absolutely love Aish as another classy outside player hopefully we can get the deal done without 2 much pain.

I really rate Toumpas and I know he will come good, He just needs a block of games knowing if he makes a mistake he won't b dropped rather than a fumble and ur out.

Toumpas (or similar) plus MFC second round pick to Adelaide, Aish to Melb, Adelaide first rounder to Brisbane...

Far too early to go with, but why not start the ridiculous ball rolling!

This is all the article said:

BRISBANE has locked away a key part of its future with the re-signing of Claye Beams and Jonathan Freeman.

It leaves James Aish as the major player off contract, and it now seems certain he will depart the Lions.

Although the 21-year-old Aish has been consistently linked with a move to Adelaide because of his strong family connections, Melbourne and Carlton are also heavily in the race.

In an absolute heartbeat.

Him and Lamumba streaming down the wing and drilli g it down Wattsy and Hogans throat?

Where do i sign?

Well, we certainly need more leg speed off half back. Yarran? I dunno. If Roos and Goodwin believe they can get him playing two-way running football.

What happens if the Prince goes down? We certainly need back up, not to mention HL is nearing the end of his career. The Gold Coast game showed the value of someone with genuine legspeed, taking the game on from half back.

[censored] Pratt passed away some 6 years ago. He contributed amazingly to the community. Not sure on what basis you call him undesireable but I think it was unnecessary.

I rate him outside of footy world but its blatantly obvious that he engineered a salary cap workaround, a cheat, in other words, to get Judd to Carlton - we were on the cards for that deal, the best player in the comp by a street

Is Yarran a free agent at the end of 2016?

For the first time in living memory the Demons seem to be becoming a viable/attractive destination for players wanting to change clubs/States.

Yeah, nah...

I'm waiting to hear more about it Lam. Chappy is known to be a bit of a loud mouth and for Yarran to run off alongside him exchanging words I'm going to wait until I've heard the full story.

Hate Chappy too, but bloody undisciplined from Yarran.

If every footy player went around clocking people they don't like, we wouldn't have many players left.

That said, we're still far too soft a team and lack mongrel.

It was a good shot by Yarran.

I wouldn't mind it if he could back it up with his football.

But it now stands out as an act of frustration.

If our club is interested in Yarran, IMO it would only be for a late pick.

Malthouse might just want to move him on. He would be frustrating to coach.

I think in the right environment, with the right coach like a Roosy, hopefully Goodwin to, that Yarran will mature.

Cheap brain fade hit that barely made contact. He'll get 4-5 weeks. We have enough dumb footballers. No thanks.

Only saw a highlights package, but the blood I saw streaming from next to Chapmans eye suggests it was a bit more than barely

It decked Chappy and he was dazed as Yaran tried to pull him up to his feet for some reason.

Yeah, I agree. I just wouldn't pay overs for the kid. Second round pick at best.

thats why i've been thinking maybe a swap of the 2 of them, like for like mnm can try to fix Watts 'is name, & Roosy can try to instill some 'come on', in Yarran.

or a Kreuzer trade of some fashion. I think the guy will turn things around, so again its a sort of like for like.

First time he's suspended.

Chapman's a [censored].

Yarran probably hates losing and is sick of this Carlton slops. Doesn't change my opinion of him at all which is that he's exactly the type of linebreaker that we need.
