Does Brayshaw play round 1?

Featured Replies

I think the thread title should be changed to 'Does Brayshaw play rounds 1 - 22?'

Or 'Hahaha St Kilda you stupid [censored], why didn't you pick Brayshaw?'

he did some things that you just know hes going to be an unbelievable footballer

First game and he already tackles like a beast

Some of his tackles were ferocious, and he just seemed to get himself in the mix constantly.

Really disappointing for Toumpas to be behind a first gamer at this point in his career, but I know who I'd prefer to get games into now.

He will have quiet games, but if he tackles like he did today regardless of how many kicks he gets, he is definitely best 22. He was better than I expected he would be.

His tackles were strong, he completely locked his man up multiple times. Also looked composed under pressure with clean disposal.

I got on him at $17.00 for Rising Star. Him or Hogan, I won't mind.

Odds are still in favour of Brayshaw doing nil and us losing comfortably.

I won't gloat C&B, but I hope you were suitably impressed by Gus' game today and you are happy to be proven wrong. The kid was terrific.

I should have taken that deal though....

Curry humiliated once again. What a sucker for punishment!

Will never admit it but.

He played in a very similar way to the way he played last year. His game transfers well. I wrote some things about him on here before the draft and I believed he would do all those things at afl level. He will be a very good, if not great pure mid for us. He marks well, kicks well off both legs, is a tackling machine and is very brave. We will nurse him a bit through his first year.

Brayshaw probably hasn't had only 9 possessions in a game of footy in a long time, but his 9 tackles made up for his small number of possessions. I was suprised when he was taken off and replacing him with Toumpas when the game was still so contested didn't make sense to me although we needed the legs.

Didn't have to be Brayshaw, could've been one of the half forwards, but I was screaming for the Toump to come on. Mistakes or not a fresh player is invaluable. More than happy that Gus got 3/4's and Gold Coast sans O'Meara and with Ablett playing outside aren't the usual contested ball beasts but Swallow and Prestia are big lads these days. So are Rischitelli and Hallahan. When in at the contests Brayshaw held his own. And that mark and subsequent clever pass off to Watts (even if he missed the goal) was brilliant stuff from a skinny (but not slight) first gamer.

If that was his first game, imagine what he will do in an entire career? Absolutely loved his game and attitude today.

Such a standout today. I reckon he'll get the Rising Star nom within 3 or 4 weeks as he builds into AFL intensity.

He is a bit lighter than the majority out there but he is super strong through the hips.

Nathan Jones robbed him of two possessions after he played on from frees Beayshaw earnt. Drop Jones.

What a difference it makes for kids coming into a team that plays well, do your thing, lay some tackles, get involved...

Usually it's get subbed on when we're getting smashed and chase a possession amongst the chaos, or get built up as the messiah and crumble under the pressure.

But he was clearly ready, I'd go as far as to say he was harder at it than all 22 Gold Coast players.
