Jack Trengove

Must all be in between lines DC..what is written seems generic and essentially a std hope/commentary as opposed a specific result or such...or like you there must be more thats not printed.

Precis. Trenners thinks hes tracking ok..thats good.

Cant see much else to this..imho

Just keep being patient jack, stay the course and hopefully you can make some sort of impact in 2016

You drunk mate?

Look at the text from Trenners, its pretty straight forward

yeah, i must be drunk, comrade

read it again and i didn't see anything that hadn't been said before

but i bow to your sober optimism and take it to cryptically mean he got a good scan result

thanks for your interpreter expertise

Today was his long-awaited appointment to see where things are at, the date Misson has been banging on about for weeks now. Clearly the appointment went well and Petracca is happy for his friend. Some people don't get that?

If Jack is able to come back and play it should be lauded as one of the greatest comebacks in the games history. Such a terrible injury he's managed to get and has had zero luck during his recovery. On a different note the friendship between him and tracca is really heart warming.

Really hope Trenners is given one more clean run to get his career back.

Hopefully we get some actual news soon.

Side note, there is a suspicious amount of exes and ohs in those text messages. The next big scandal?

Greatest comeback in games history?

Lol kidding right? Good on him if he comes back but bit thats a bit of a stretch mate..

Our very own David Schwarz came back from 3 knee recos and won a best and fairest. Daniel Menzel is another who has been through absolute hell with his knee injuries is another who is defying the odds at the moment.

Mitch Clark missed more games then trenners.. just saying..

Hopefully we get some actual news soon.

Not in this day and age Django. Nothing to see here. Live and let live.

Why do you think he said that to Tracca just a few hours after he got a scan, and do you think Tracca posted it on Twitter?

its not rocket science

dc is a bit terse tonight HH. Obviously no social tennis or dinner dances so he is suffering from bluerinser withdrawal. He'll score in the next day or so and be a different bloke!

Nothing against it Ralph, but tell me that wouldn't be a scandal?

Edit: I digress from the topic. Can't wait to see Trenners back on the field.

I did say "one of". Schwarters recovery from 3 knee reco's is incredible and taking absolutely nothing away from the likes of Menzel, but Jacks return to senior footy is still far from a sure thing. He is still reasonably young so he has time on his side but think about how he was considered prior to him going down. He was considered one of the elite talents and key parts to Melbourne's future, since then a lot of footy has past him by, he's had to watch players from his draft go onwards and upwards, it would be enough for any regular person to pack it in.

I'm not taking anything away from the likes of Ox, Menzel, and Clark, I would rather say he is worthy of being mentioned in their group. When you talk comebacks Jason McCartney would be my no. 1 that comes to mind.

Another high draft pick from the draft lottery that didn't work out. He was no good before the injury. Why would he be better after the injury?

I suppose it depends on when you classify "pre-injury" as 2013 to me he was clearly playing with an injury that was hampering him badly. 2011 he was sensational.

[EDIT] He was also playing under a coach that was hampering him badly!

Poor comment. Not only is it now apparent he was carrying an undiagnosed injury for who knows how long, but we actually have a semblance of a development team at the club now. They also happen to be doing everything in their power to rectify the development of our kids, rather than throw them off the deep end with one braindead decision after another.

What he needs right now is the support of coaches not to return to his pre-2014 form but to develop into the player he was drafted to become. It's blatantly obvious he's never had this chance until now.

Rubbish, he was as good as any 20 year old midfielder in the AFL in 2011, and he had a great 2010 rookie season too

2012 he was burdened with the captaincy in the dumbest decision of all time, and at some point during that time his foot started hindering him

Boo X many times

It isn't a stretch at all.

There are other circumstances that add to Trengove's story, not least of which is him being asked to lead a club well before anyone should have that duty bestowed upon them and the challenges that has added in his career.

To go through the entire injury recovery process and then be on the trade table, only to have his foot cave in for a second time at a stage when he's doing the medical for his prospective club. These are pretty big mental hurdles to overcome.

The majority of this place for a long time didn't believe he'd ever come back, and I'd say most of them still hold that opinion. If he can pull it off, it will absolutely be one of the great comebacks of recent times.

Menzel hasn't actually made his AFL return yet, but if he does that too will be one of the great stories.

great post mono

how do they fix/increase the blood supply to that area of the foot? to that bone?

Don't know for sure but I suspect that the proponents of hyperbaric oxygen would try to sell it to him.

Could be worse.. could be Morabito, who has played 3 games in 5 years and is still trying to get back

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2015-07-01/morabitos-afl-future-in-doubt

That's so harsh. He looked like a huge talent but then everything that could go wrong has gone wrong. It would be pretty great if he did manage to get his body sorted and come back, but at this stage it's looking pretty unlikely.

Jack has his scans today.

Would love to see him in the red and blue again.

He would relish playing again especially with so many other good players around him.

I think the results come back in a few days.

Keeping fingers and toes crossed that the news is all good, for Jack.

good luck, & keep on fighting Trenners... we'll get there eventually.

Hopefully we get some actual news soon.

Pretty natural for our generation, mate. We're all pretty in touch with our feelings. That read like one of my texts to my guy mates.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
