Mahoney went on radio the other day and said the Howe anf Kennedy deals would have to be done separately. If we then trade Howe for Kennedy and some backended picks then it tells me Mahoney doesn't know how to negotiate.

Maybe Buckley made Josh an offer to good to refuse (Godfather style) and Saturday morning he woke up next to a horses head?

I hope that today is the day where Howe comes to the realisation that he is Carlton bound.

They wouldn't have the balls

Most have bagged Howe all year, Toumpas can't go a yard and we're playing hard ball?

Ffs, I'd take a packet of pork rinds for both of them!

Id be after a box personally

Why play hard ball on a bloke who is on the fringes of the team?

I understand the annoyance that the GC deal won't come to pass but any value above Pick 30 is good for a player like Howe IMO.

If Buckley thinks he can turn him into Smith/Gunston Hybrid of Awesomeness - go for it; he's not suitable back, he struggles to play in front because he likes to jump from behind and that will frustrate whoever is Collingwood's forwards coach. They already hate Elliot doing it - now they have two!

From what I remember reading, he said that they were seperate deals "at this stage". Big difference IMO

Why don't we offer to pay an extra $100-200,000 of Howe's wage on top of GC's offer if he goes to GC? If we replace him with a kid, we won't be using more salary cap space anyway.

A bit out there but why not?

Come on robbo I have read that in two or three other places. You do not own the idea. It is possible for multiple people to come up with the same idea and to be capable of independent thought.

Bye Bye Jez.

Brett Anderson reporting Howe and Toumpas traded for Kennedy, a 2nd rounder and a 3rd rounder

If he is correct we got shafted.

Some on the Trade Radio thread reporting two 2nd rounders but I doubt it

Andersen is arguing that we are getting an alright deal as Toump and Howe are inconsistent / underperforming. However, I think we are getting screwed. Looks like Collingwood will get Howe for Kennedy, Seedsman, and a 3 pick drop in their second rounder.

Do we all really think Toumpas is worth a 2nd rounder? Cause I sure don't. The blokes done absolutely nothing except for a 15 minute purple patch in the StKilda match
Take the deal and run!!

29 and Kennedy. About all I ever thought it would be, yet still disappointed.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out thanks Jeremy

I am so glad to see the back of Howe.

I called for him to be dropped many times over the last two years. We carried him when he gave us nothing. Played maybe 2-3 serviceabloe games a year.

The bloke is a lazy, putrid footballer.

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence.
