Nice passage of play. Lamumba Garlett Vandenberg to Hogan.

Sparkling wine football!

Anyone know if newton got hurt bad?

Look at McKenzie get tackled and punch the ball into himself!

*facepalm*

Great quarter boys, that's more like it!

Surprised we won that quarter considering we took Toumpas over Wines.

That siren sounds like WWII surplus.

Vberg yep, immediate feel is he belongs in the 22. Well done. Tyson, Lumumba, Frost, killing it.

Surprised we won that quarter considering we took Toumpas over Wines.

I dont think one player would make us 5 goals up right now

Wonder if we have spent all our petrol tickets now in the third and don't give a whimper in the last???

And still not in front either.

Excellent quarter.

Much better use of the footy, better foreward set up. Jesse Hogan.

i got the evil eye from mrs S when it went off

Demonland is like a bowl of goldfish - if we have a bad last quarter watch the wrist slashing resume

We were kicking with the wind. Few goals scored so far from the other end by either team. Prepare for a Freo final qtr surge with the wind.

Great 3rd Quarter:

Hogan on the lead looked fantastic! Shame a couple deliveries were a bit ordinary.

Vandenberg looked promising, particularly with a few strong marks and good I50 work.

Salem keeps impressing me, he has a very nice balance between that hard at it inside game yet well composed and "classy" deliveries out of defence.

HL off the back line did a few nice things.

McDonald has impressed me so far.

The usual N. Jones and Tyson have impressed me.

The usual, who won't be named continue to disappoint me.

Wind has just ramped up quite a bit and the Dockers have the scoring end.

We will win.

The love for Toumpas on here is amazing....

The kid can play and once he has found his feet at this level people will understand why he was rated so highly...

Yes, I admit, he has shown bugger all so far in his short career... But his skills by foot are beautiful when he does happen to get involved...

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Hawthorn and Melbourne. Two teams with impressive form from last week but with seasons that are travelling on different trajectories meet in Saturday’s twilight game for what could well be the most intriguing contest of the AFL’s penultimate round. Sadly, the game has been relegated to that unappealing time slot in the weekend when Melburnians are typically preoccupied with activities other than football. It falls between the morning's shopping, afternoon sport and recreation, and Saturday night fever. A time usually reserved for relatively insignificant events but this one is not a nothingburger for either of the clubs or their fans.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
