the price of petrol went down also.. never thought I'd see the day!

And it's going back up.

Now I'm just waiting for these stupid inflated 45% over valued Melbourne housing market bubble to burst!

Loved it when it I sold my house for a record price in the area. In a years time i need it to drop again ;)

The AFL and MCG have been extorting patrons for years and got away with it

They are lucky there is not a class action lawsuit against them

does that mean they will water the beers down even more?

Ah, still a rip off fellas.... I don't eat this garbage anyway, but at my work we make 40% margin on hot 4n20's at $2.50 & I bet these guys get a better price than us. Hot chip buckets for only $4...... Oh thnk u soo much for ripping us stupid still. Chips cost FA!! Including oil, salt & the buckets it's still a 400+% markup.

How long were they charging $1 for beer trays?!? They cost em about 1/2 a cent per unit.

So when is red rooster announcing prices inside the g will match their prices outside the g?

Too little too late imo, I'll keep taking my own thnx, especially since I'm in the habit already.

Getting very sick of getting ripped left right & centre in this country, especially by the government.

some pubs/bars/clubs in the inner city you get charged $10 for a VB stubby that they probably purchase for $1

then you get a cab home for 15 minutes and it's upwards of $30

cost of living really is taking the pizz these days

I better get inoculated in case they are importing cheap food from China to afford these price cuts.

I have been taking my own food to the footy for years. As a vegetarian, I do not have much choice but don't eat junk food anyway. The only exception for me is a hot jam donut.

Posted

I rarely buy the food too, but a least it is a step in the right direction, if you don't think any body makes money selling any food you are a moron, and this stadium does have high overheads compared to a little golf club or local footy club. Remember, the people working there are getting weekend rates. And alcohol is not included in the price drop.

Not only is a hot jam donut on top of the food pyramid but it also contains all the essential nutrients and minerals for a balanced, healthy diet.

I like how they pat themselves on the back when the real question that should be answered is why have they been ripping us fans off for so long? And as thevil1 has pointed out its still a bloody rip off. Stephen Gough is the master of spinning bull shlt.

Water down from $5 to $3. Big effing deal. How about installing a decent number of drinking fountains around the ground?

Time for the fans to start a campaign: BYO food and drinks to the G, teach the batsards a lesson.

I'm the same with alcohol, I don't drink it. The only exception is red wine and beer.

Sadly I don't drink anymore. But the same amount is just fine.

I really don't see what the issue is here. If you think something is overpriced, don't buy it. It's not like not having a pie and a beer at the footy is a life and death situation.

The only way prices will come down is if they don't sell anything because everybody is bringing food and drink from home. Then you'll be sure to see a readjustment in pricing.

Have you watched Melbourne play footy over the last 8 years? I need a beer.

I'm waiting for the small print that says you can't bring anything in.

I will give credit where credit is due. The AFL has listened to the thoughts of the regular fans and actually tried to act on it. They recognised the terrible fixture at times last year and brought back the big Saturday day games at the G. They heard us all say how expensive it was to eat food at the games and they have worked on the stadiums to reduce prices.

And credit to the G as well, they haven't just dropped prices by a menial 50c or anything they have taken a fair chunk off. They will still make big profits on the mark up, but they have dropped a fair amount of annual income. Will be interesting to see how much Etihad follows suit.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
