Nick Riewoldt loses sister

Very sad, indeed! Very sorry to hear it.

Tragic. Best wishes to the family

Terrible news. My heart goes out to him and to the entire family.

Horrible, and way, way too young! Condolences to all.

Condolences to all the family and friends.

Such a tragic loss at such a young age.

Sad when anyone dies

And i wasted one of my very few posts on a player's alcohol abuse - what an horrific time for this family. If you have a daughter as I do, take a moment to comprehend the grief. If you have a little sister whom you haven't taken time out to acknowledge recently, make the effort. Horribly sad

Sounds like his sister was made of the same stuff as Nick. What an amazing family. My thoughts are with them at this terrible time.

So sad, so young. My condolences to Nick and the rest of his family.

So sad. Condolences to the family. He used to visit a young friend of ours when she was critically ill in hospital. Decent feller.

Yet another reminder: support donor campaigns as much as you can. Reform Australian law: make it an opt-out system, as they do in Europe. Tragic to see young people die like that. People often die in our community because of a lack of donated organs (the marrow Madeleine needed had to be flown in from France) My own daughter needed a new liver last year - at the age of 16. She made it, thank God, but jeez it was a close shave.

I 100% agree with you. I have had a talk to my family and two kids and made my wishes known. All the best to you and your daughter. She must be a fighter.

Thanks for your thoughts, Jane.

By the way, if anybody's interested in supporting or learning more about organ donation, google Zadie's Rainbow Foundation.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
