The team is back in town today after 11 days on the Sunshine Coast and the coach has deemed it a success ~ Camp achieved what we wanted: Roos

The players now have "three days off before returning to training on Australia Day" and hopefully the return session will be open to the public because, to date, many of us have not had the opportunity to catch up with training due to work commitments.

Thanks to all those fans who posted their reports from Maroochydore, particularly Roosy's Bruisers who was meticulous in following the various sessions and reporting on them.

He's set a high standard for our regular Melbourne track watchers and I hope I can join them all on Monday wherever training takes place.

it would have to be at Casey you would think with all that is going on with Tennis and Asian Cup Soccer.

While on that subject is TC the best performed player that has ever played for Australia?

Does anyone know what they achieve?

I'll answer this in regards to the Sports Bra (if that's what you meant ). The Sports Bras hold the Catapult Sports GPS units (see link http://www.catapultsports.com/global/system/outdoor/) on the upper back of each player as they train (and they actually give pretty good support to the pecs surprisingly enough haha - done a bit of validity research with them at my work ;)).

During matches the GPS units instead are placed in the little pouch sewn into each players Guernsey - so there is no need for the sports bra then.

In regards to the video, i know my work has done some research with decision making from player worn video data, however its normally head mounted. This may be related or he may have gotten permission to wear it for himself (maybe hes staring in a new TV series: the demon within??? - i'll work on my jokes).

I've tweeted the club twice asking if monday is an open training session but haven't got a reply.

Until such time as the site is updated, you'll need a time machine:-

Upcoming open training sessions:

Saturday 17th January - Maroochydore Multi Sports Complex - 9.00am

All other training sessions are closed sessions.

Never having ventured to Casey, how do they 'close' the training sessions there?

They don't have to: Several footy fields and sporting facilities surrounded by acres of parkland...enough to keep all but the most ardent fan at a safe distance!

My uncle had a farm at Waverley, he sold it to the VFL for some of Waverley park, his driveway Cypresses are still there. He thought he'd move away from the encroaching city so he moved to the Clyde just out of Cranbourne and ran a dairy farm, you guessed it his property is now Casey fields.

Edit: I just looked at satellite images and the dairy and farmhouse are still there. The cows grazed over the rail line, no room for cows now, although some may argue there are still a few left.

Your uncle is the Wilmer McLean of the AFL. The US Civil War started on his property at Manassas, just outside Washington DC, and finished with the surrender meeting in the living room of the house that he'd moved to 200 km away.

Club website has it at 9:15 am at Goschs, Moonie will be so excited that I will be able to be there, fanboying to my hearts content

Love your training reports Saty but the sarcasm is wearing a bit thin...just put Moonie and other detractors on 'ignore'. Or follow 'Bruisers' example - do your reports the let others have their say and leave it at that.

That should help stop the sparring that goes on in training reports.

Appreciate what you are saying, only sarcastic to those souls that deserve it, it is a public forum, as I am constantly reminded, it is not me that starts the sparring,, you must be on humour bypass today, I promise I will try, will be taking my lovely lady, so will have to be on my best behaviour

I went to one closed session at Gosch's Paddock.

The only different I noticed is they don't talk to any observers.

Good for you Saty. Got a change of undies in case the excitement gets too much? Only joshing. I actually appreciate your training reports, particularly when you report what is actually happening.

Can I ask you to report how Hoges is going as some were saying he was a bit proppy towards the end of Maroochy?

It'll be Straya Day on Monday. Don't forget to wear your flag cape to training! Oi, Oi, Oi.....!

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
