DRAFT DAY - 2014

Oscar at 53!!!!

Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

McDonald at 53! What a steal! This has been a superb draft for us. Now we just have to develop them!

53
Melbourne
Oscar McDonald
North Ballarat Rebels

Same as his brother!

tom was pick 53

Do we need another key defender, or was he just too good to let pass?

Yes. We need another developing key defender!

I'll be interested to see how Gore's career turns out at Geelong. A few demonlanders were pushing his name I believe at our later picks?

Unfortunately for those wanting Reece McKenzie finally gone to Richmond at 77 - looked like he might make the rookie draft for a while

Reece Mckenzie over looked too. Edit - Opps. Richmond just got him with pick 70ish

We have pick 2 in Rookie draft right?

Guess some clubs have preseason picks before us though.

Touk Miller overlooked.. wow

He got drafted by somebody; I'm sure I saw his name.

He went at Pick #77.

Don't you people pay attention to what's going on?

Would like Bampton from SA as a Pre-season or rookie option. Hard midfielder with good leadership.

"They're going to be a good side, Melbourne."

Uh-oh, that line again.

I just have to say it, I'm thrilled with this draft. Getting both Petracca and Brayshaw is an insanely good result already, but landing Oscar at 53 as well is way beyond what I'd hoped. Stretch of course, and one of his mates from Glenelg at 40 is a nice touch. Nev upgraded. The only way it could have been better is if Lever somehow slipped to one of our late picks.

We should be very happy with what we picked up. Really consolidated our midfield depth (and talent) and got the developing key back we needed.

His old coach is in record saying he beat Petracca head to head - might go alright

I didnt wanna get too excited as we MFC supporters have been burned so many times

But then I saw the interview with Petracca and Brayshaw

Never seen two freshly drafted kids that excited going to any club before, let alone the MFC
