Luke Tapscott delisted

Nothing personal against Luke, but thank god for that. 5 years on the list, and he only ever looked like an AFL footballer for five minutes at the start of 2011. Far better to cut our losses now and try someone else.

Now hopefully for Evans to join him so we can use all our draft picks.

" nothing personal against Luke" rates up there with "don't take this the wrong but...." and " I don't want be rude however"...

no offense..

Happy to have him rookied. He just hasn't had a decent run.

Neville is just the perfect example and role model of what a full pre season and injury free season can do to you.

Him and jetta playing as the Matthew Whelan types off half back would seriously make our team a whole lot better.

I don't see it happening for Tappy. He does not posses the tank to accomplish our 2 way running that is demended , can this be accomplished in 1 pre season ( if he can get through it ) ???

He is not in our best 6 backman or forwards especially if Nev continues as our hard nut back pocket type.

Clisby, Georgiou and Nicholson are gone as well.

that is a releif as i was worried that we might have trouble utilising our draft picks [or be ineligble for the PSD or delisted FAs.

Like Jetta, when he played that back pocket he looked OK, we just moved him around or he got injured. As a rookie you know that Trengove will go straight on to the long term injury list so a guy like Tappy or even Liam Anthony from North could easy play round 1 if we rookie them.

Well if we delist JT and Evans and promise to rookie them, then there is no room for Luke.

That's because we won't delist JT.

We can only "promise" to re-rookie if no one else takes them in the draft. Like with Jetta, Tapscott won't get picked up, so the option is highly likely. With JT, not so much.

Plus, if we delist him, we'll have to pay out his existing contract. We would be officially terminating his contract.

Good luck Tappy, ball is in your court from here.

yeh he kicked a whopping 12.16 in 48 games, many of them at half forward

Not whopping but did kick some beauties, Id rather him than a "supposed" AFL footballer , in Mc Kenzie with very limited skills, that misses a goal from point blank range 12 metres out ! Wouldn't you? IMO Tapscott more upside than the other two and he gets delisted . In spite of Evans having a contract and probably Jordy as well the way forward ain't with these two! In fact I reckon they'd struggle to get a run with Managatang magoos!

Why wouldn't you delist at least another one and grab some smoky with one of your last picks? Time to be Bold!! Evans far too injury prone and Mc Kensie's skills abysmal!

I just cannot for the life of me understand how DL is still talking about JT being rookie listed. The forum now talks about it as if its fact. Its bloody fanciful, never going to happen. MFC would be crucified, wake up!!!!

And to top it off, WTE, they're starting to talk about re-rookie list Evans.

No, no, no, no, NO.

This place has gone (further) mad.

And it's unnecessary. Trengove goes onto the LTI and a rookie can be promoted in his place. Same result at a cheaper cost and with a commitment to a player (the new rookie) for one year rather than the two required for any new player drafted. More importantly, I have no desire to see our club terminate contracts and "pay them out". Every time a club chooses to do that it reduces its prospects of getting a quality player by free agency. Who'd want to come to a club that doesn't honour contracts?

Don't be silly LDC. By delisting Trengove, we get to take pick 53 to the draft and pick up the next superstar, who will make an immediate impact and we're paying him at the base $54k salary or whatever it is.

(being sarcastic)

I am really sorry that he hasn't made the grade - looked great in his first quarter of footy, but unfortunately hasn't been able to repeat.

Good luck.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
