Off to the west for first practice against the Anchors:

http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2014-10-28/nab-challenge-fixture-confirmed

I hope they are all televised, especially as it is unlikely most will get to the first two games and the third, if we lose the first 2 games, could be completely meaningless.

Then again some say the whole NAB Cup is meaningless, but they are usually the ones who aren't in the final.

Its a chance at a real hitout....thats all it is and all that the club will view it as.

Nice for us Dees in the West, Fish and Chips at Fishing boat harbour and a couple of beers in Freo before watching the Dees

Looks like the game in Ballarat against the Dogs won't be televised.

Out of the 6 games that aren't televised, surprisingly the powerhouses of North, St Kilda, Dogs and us are involved.

I much prefer playing Essendon as our lead in game as opposed to hawthorn this year when we lost by 100 points!

Letr's hope Sylvia has a full pre-season then...

just needs one good one that lad

It's just three rounds of football for all clubs - no finals.

Disapointed to see that we aren't playing a game out at Casey Fields. Was looking forward to walking the couple of 100 meters with my 2 year old to watch them play.

If paul roos had his way he probably wouldn't even keep score

We need to play to win every time we step on the field. I'm sick of this club just going through the motions in the pre season and then acting all surprised when they get flogged in round 1.

Last time we played Freo in the pre season was at Subi in 2010 and we copped a belting and I remember thinking jesus it's going to be another long season we are so far off the mark. Hence 2010 turned out better than I expected with us looking like we were heading in the right direction for the future.

This time I think we are in better hands both on and off the field

Not sure that our third match against Essendon sans 18 players* will prove much of a hit-out.

*Any player hit with an infraction notice is immediately 'provisionally suspended'. The player may appeal to the AFL anti-doping appeal tribunal.

Have to learn new AFL speak. In the future Essendon means Bye.

No thanks. After our last two efforts there, I'm glad we're staying clear.

Yes, I suppose I should change that to " the clubs that don't play well".

Pretty sure the WAFL will be having a couple of practice matches by then.

Dare say Peel won't let him play in the NAB for fear of injury.

A few Pale Ale pints down at LC's..

It's likely to be 35 degrees so better go well hydrated.

Red, Ballarat is only an hour and a bit away. Surely some tragic D'Ls could make their way up and give BMc some support for his first hit out against his old club. We have great support from around the Ballarat area and if the weather is fine we could get a nice crowd to start our trudge towards September....

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
