I don't know much about him honestly but he is at the age when you expect ruck men to hit their straps. However he has been delisted, probably for a reason.

Could he take on the ruck/forward role to complement either Jamar or Gawn (who are both first rucks really)?

We already have Fitz as that sort of developing player. Pedo plays a swingman role also.

If we intend on drafting Wright I can't see us having any interest here.

Just interested to know what others may think.

Depends how may rookie spots we have [unless a late pick is there].

Jamar, Gawn, Betty and Fitzy.

Why do we need another?

If Jamar went down early the answer is yes! Spencer I am not sure of, Gawn is injured, Fitzy isn't a ruckman. Pedo is a back up and King is raw. I would have chased Louden from the Hawks myself who you know can play a role and that allows you to make some delisting decisions with our big blokes, some of whom will have to go some time soon.

I would not be against a rookie spot for McKernan. remember him playing U-18's, not surprised its taking him awhile. i think he's worth the risk for rookie.

but not a senior spot. he needs some time IMO, & the kick up the bum that he's getting.

To me Gawn and King (and only because he is so young and not fully grown) are the only two on that list look encouraging...

Jamar is planning for life after footy and collecting as many pay cheques as he can. Spencer I just don't see stepping up any further, I think what we have seen is as bout as good as he will get. Fitzpatrick is probably lucky to have survived the delisting's, a couple of goals in the last games may have been his saving grace. Pedo is an ok back up but his value is around the ground not in the centre circle.

I know Roos wants midfielders but I really think we need to find a genuine ruckman sooner rather then later. We have a lot of tall players but that doesn't really mean we have any depth in that department.

Saints have invited him to train with them pre season leading into the draft. He's been in the system for a long time without establishing a regular spot on Adelaide's list. Unless the Saints see him as a Matt Spangher type I don't see where he fits in given they just traded Stanley.

He sits right in Stanley's spot.

What would you rather? Stanley or pick 21 plus McKernan?

The saints are trying to get as much top end talent as possible and would rather their list be filled with whoever they can find for a cheap price than to carry guys who tease like Stanley if they can trade him out for a top pick. They have 2 young first ruck types but no one on their list to fill that second ruck/forward spot so they might have a look at McKernan hoping he can play a role like Pedersen did for us (or maybe more like Sellar did).

With Pedersen, Gawn, Fitzpatrick on our list, plus the rookie King and maybe even Peter Wright there's no need for us to fill the list with guys like McKernan.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
