Just to add to de goey from what I've seen, he is a great tackler, and I mean a great tackler. Very, very aggressive at the ball and the man. Played a lot around half forward with stints in the middle. Had an outstanding finish to the season after the champs. Kicks goals as well. Is a terrific half forward at keeping the ball in the forward line. He really did get better as the year went on.

There is a distinct prototype being adhered to in the Roos era re mids. They are around 6 foot and no nonsense.

Roos imho likes to assemble teams founded upon a core of utilities. These are more than just mids per se they are the footy's version of the Universal Soldier. Get 8-10 of these out on the park at any given moment and they just wear down oppositions and relentlessly push forward. They grind games, they grind opponents. They sometimes exhibit flair but in the main they just go about a job...( their role ) and depending who's on song on any given day a slight jugglling may occur until the team clicks again.

Look at the foot soldiers...who are they in the draft...pick 2 of them and theyre ours

Had some good stints at half back too.

Would compete with Lever for the title of most aggressive in this year’s draft pool. There’s a bit of Jack Ziebell in his game, though he may have a bit more pace. Not sure what Jordan’s endurance is like, it may be the area he needs to work on, but he may be on the next rung down from Brayshaw and Petracca in terms of midfielders this year.

I would have thought both picks 2 & 3 are career defining for Taylor in a draft which is not regarded for stand out players at picks 1,2 &3.

That makes a good case for Lever then, bacause if he fails, it's likely that you could always blame injury...

Good to see someone with a bit of credible inside sources instead of the 'My golf buddy said this so it means it true'' that says we are locked in at Lever or McCartin and no one else.

Pick 3 will not be a gamble that is for sure knowing how important the pick is and how much if a gamble it already is (like the pre draft articles describing Tapscott as a ball if muscle like Rich that would have immediate afl impact or Gysberts as the steal if the draft).

Pick 2 = Brayshaw (lock)

Pick 3 = McMartin or Lever based on media and majority opinion. My original Pick 3 was Lever.

If we are to go left field and I hope we do with Pick 3. I think Liam Duggan.

I believe Brayshaw & Duggan are the two safest picks and both will play 250+ great games.

I don't think that'd be that big a surprise.

He looks ready-made and automatic best 22 midfield for sides such as ours and the Saints who lack both class and depth in the middle.

I have always wondered why if we are all happy with Bradshaw and tossing up other options ,why he did not figure highly for saints.

IT would then be interesting if we go petracca and then continue with the other endless pages of debate about our other choice

I still think there's a chance the Saints will take Mccartin. In the picking comp on the website I went with Petracca at 2 and Brayshaw at 3 in the hope this happens.

Probably won't mean a lot to you all, but I remember watching Duggan play for St Pats as a year 10.

In a side that featured future AFL players such as Jake Neade, Dom Barry, Tanner Smith, Michael Close, Dallas Wilsmore and Matt Crouch, Duggan still caught the eye as the classiest player on the field. Anyone who saw the Herald Sun Shield final this year would've seen a young player with unbelievable ability.

Although it is unlikely, I would be fine with us taking him with pick 3.

Makes sense. He and Petrecca appear the two standout midfielders, but Brayshaw has more exposed form as a pure midfielder. he looks a safe bet, but his pace has improved so much he looks like he could be a real weapon. wouldn't be surprised if Roos rated him number 1. so why not the saints.

you do wonder why the saints would still be deliberating. all the football, draft camps and interviews surely are done.

And how good is their forward line without Pavlich PSD?

How good is Sydney's without Buddy, how good are the Cats without Hawkins, how bad is our midfield without Jones it's irrelevant Pav is still in their forward line and I think you may need to review Freo in 2013 and see how many games Pavlich played, their forward line functioned well enough then.

You said they were not building a forward line, sorry but they are and it will consist of Taberner, Apeness & a big gun they have in their sights with a shite load of salary cap room they have coming up, My mail is Walker is well within their sites. In regards to Taberner & Apeness I have seen them play at WAFL level and they are going to be good players not to mention having Ballantyne and Walters as crumbers .

Your post was an assumption and not based on any fact.

Freo drafted them for that purpose as a future plan and they are developing them appropriatley and as I said above they will not be the number 1 forward in 2016/17
