To those enthusiastically wielding their razor blades, I note that about a dozen other teams haven't done any trades either. Yet.

Trenners won't play a game next year if our attempts to trade him, and the ensuing medical, caused him to re-injure the navicular bone. He now needs to go through another 4 or 5 month recovery, depending on the severity of the break, before even beginning to gradually train himself up again for match fitness (after already missing an entire season). Call it MFCSS if you want, but this has Clark written all over it (minus the obvious pissing on the club at his exit).

Frawley and Clark are justifiably outs. We're zero chance of retaining Clark and Frawley is already signed with Hawthorn. Lamumba conversely could easily fall through the cracks and stay at Colonwood; he's contracted after all, and apparently North are talking with his management. Frost is being sounded out by the Bulldogs because we're considering taking him via the PSD. Could easily end up with eggs on our face there with that strategy.

You were trying to talk in absolutes, ins and outs, and now you're just going to rumour and misinformation.

Fact is Trengove was already injured, Richmond found it using a different type of scan, he didn't injure himself doing a medical.

So...

IN: Lumumba, Garlett, Frost, Pick 3

OUT: Clark (who had already retired), Frawley (who was a free agent), and a swap of really late picks

Get a grip mate.

Do those teams have one of the worst list of players in the modern era?

Which, conversely, do you think effects our ability to trade for superstar players?

When Frost and Lamumba are both signed and there's an article on our website, I'll eat my humble pie. Right now, Collingwood appear to be doing everything they can to sabotage the trade strategy of every other team.

I find it funny how you try to go back and forth from using facts or not in your posts.

True but the other teams haven't been in the bottom 4 for the past 100 years either.

Nothing ever happens midweek. I am still expecting Roosy to play a killer Poker hand before Friday afternoon.

Similar to the poker game played in the opening scenes of Sin City 2.

If you haven't seen it yet i thoroughly recommend you do!!

Mate, if you're satisfied with our trade strategy so far, that's good for you. My opinion (which I believe are permitted on discussion forums) is that it's been lackluster, but I'm very happy to be proven wrong if we sign up some unexpected mids over the next few days.

Is it that hard to understand some supporters are justifiably concerned that we're 40 hours from the end of the trade period (after a four win season and ten losses to cap off the year) and we haven't brought in a single midfielder, when Roos' entire modus operandi for this trade period was recruiting established midfielders for instant improvement? Lamumba and Frost deals can easily fall through the cracks, especially if someone goes to GWS with a better offer for Frost than, oh... offering them absolutely nothing and letting him slide to the PSD?

What exactly do you want to happen? Do you want to trade picks 2 and 3 for just whoever we can get? You're expecting miracles, when there are very very few trades that are that.

That was easily the worst movie I've ever seen. Easily.

And by the way it's Thursday afternoon, not Friday.

Doesn't have to be superstars mate just some mildly competent footballers who can slot into our midfield. Someone like Lyons or Hallahan we should be targeting.

Yep, I can see Sydney and Hawthorn supporters slitting their wrists at not improving their lists. They might only win 16 games next year, instead of 20. It's a bit more significant when you haven't won more than 4 games in the past 4 years.

Oh Stuie doesn't like a movie i thought was a classic sequel.

It must be rubbish.

Mate you boot people of facebook pages for having different opinions to yourself. Thank goodness you are not a moderator.

Rhino was bad enough...

I refer you to Stuie's post:

Trades by year

2010: 20

2011: 31

2012: 28

2013: 27

2014: 4 so far

To conclude it is all over is assuming a radical change from previous years.

Let's wait before we slit our wrists, however much some of us seem to enjoy it.

Have a sook mate, it's what you're best at.

Absolutely mindboggling if we really did all this work behind the scenes to secure pick 3 for Frawley in the hope of pulling off some kind of super-trade, and everything fell apart because we decided dealing with Colonwood was a good idea (who are doing a spectacular job holding up the entire trade period until the last minute).

Sooner or later other clubs are going to say, bugger them, and go off on their own and start shopping around players we may or may not have had a vested interest in.

Why don't you keep your powder dry, didn't you jump the gun last Wednesday

Roosy is currently n Holidays.

I don't expect much to happened to be honest.

oh well.

There are more people who work at MFC than Roosy.

In fact, did you know we even have people who have the job of "recruiting" players? Amazing hey!

Haha as if. Get your hand off it.

I read a lot of your facebook crud. You know i am right.

If nothing eventuates here this will come under scrutiny. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now but they've got one and a half days to do something to improve our diabolical midfield.

It's expecting miracles to find players worth trading picks 2/3/23 for, to improve on current MFC "stars" like M. Jones, Terlich, Bail, McKenzie...?

The worst 5 players at Hawthorn would be a good place to start.

So you want to trade pick 2 for one of Hawthorn's worst 5 players?

Great strategy..... FMD.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
