More good news for the club and great to see the faith shown in the direction we are headed by the players.

If I'm being greedy I would have liked to see McDonald sign for another year or two but I really can't complain too much!

This is the best news...

McDonald signs and Roos actually rates an inherited youngster.

I will update the contracts thread.

Anyone know the rules on Jetta getting locked in? One of the next priorities.

Do we just wait till draft day?

Probably the most effective rookie-list season since Damien Peverill...v important to keep him around (as we saw vs freo).

He can't officially be on the senior list for 2015 until we pick him as part of the national draft with a later pick (4th of 5th rounder)

Great news on McDonald but Barry is an interesting one. I really thought he'd be in trouble at the expiry of his contract but it's good to see that Roosy must see a bit in him as a player.

Would have loved to see McDonald signed up for 4 years, although with the TV rights up at the end of 2016, it's not suprising they'll see what monies around then.

As far as Barry goes, happy to see him kept on, although I thought he may just get 1 extra year for now, but 2 works. Important thing is they're both locked in. The only one remaining now is Chip, and whatever his decision is, I don't think it will effect us to much.

Barry's type always take longer.

I think he's shown the willingness to work with his running, and deserved to be kept.

Can't say we have a lot of his type either.

absolutely, look at Jetta!

Much doubt, but with patience and the right support has cemented himself easily into your best 22!

Does this mean TMac ends up in the free agency window? Or will be still be too young?

Obviously dependant on whether the minimum years change occurs. Bloody players association.

Great news on Mcdonald, meh on Barry though he's basically shown zilch.

I get where you're coming from, but the kid has clearly show one ability that Roos and co. like - working hard at his game. He's come along way this year to earn a run in the seniors and from all reports he works very hard to improve and he takes everything on board. For a kid his age he deserves the opportunity to improve again and a 2 year contract doesn't hurt us all that much if he doesn't.

What I take away is Barry has had ONE year with Roos and Co..hes come a fair way in that year. They must like what they see.

In Roos we trust

Barry is a great athlete. Speed and endurance is hard to find.

Lousy footballer though. Doesn't read the play or get involved much at all.

Worth persevering with because if he makes he could be really important.

From what I've seen of him at training he's a bit shy and really didn't seem up to standards last year but he's obviously following instructions with his tagging role and trains hard fitness wise. Definitely worth another year but I would've gone 1 year at a time. Guess Roos and co are backing themselves in as well as the kid.

Barry getting another contract surely doesn't agree with some Demonlanders who had him delisted. Maybe just maybe Roosey and the club know more than some Demonland posters.

Cant wait for some more Demonland delisting to sign on.

Give the kids some time for goods sake.

If Roos stays for the full 3 years then Barry's contract is up at the same time - it means he's had 3 years with Roos and if he hasn't continued to improve then his time will be up. The FD clearly see something in him and he has the chance to make something of it now. Good move fromt he club.

Yes it is good news, especially Tmac.

I must admit I don't rate Dom ATM on what I have seen, but I would love to be proved wrong.

I think Barry is obviously still quite green. His limited game time Im sure was for evaluation to see whether he can stand up to the top level and do a job. He must have passed.

I expect to see more time in magoos next year refining ability and footy nouse.

Absolutely rapt to have Tommy mac stay on, got a big future ahead of him. I see him one day as being amongst the elite defenders in the comp. Sure he needs to work on his kicking but other players can help with that and get around behind him for the quick hands and take the kick themselves. He is a key position player not a running half back, his real importance is the one on one contest.

Time will tell with Barry. He is effectively a first year with his body size. Who knows what another pre season and some more senior footy might do to him. IMO players drafted as teenagers need a good 3 - 4 years in the system before you can really judge them fairly, men don't fully develop physically until their mid twenties. Good luck to him

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
