Jesse Hogan ~ new 2 year deal

Featured Replies

It is? Did you even see it?

Not to mention the fact it was reportedly only mouthing off - how soft do you think poor Viney is?

Can't imagine his feelings were too hurt or that he needed sticking up for.

If two Geelong senior players are mouthing off to a second year player you think its acceptable to just let jack stick up for himself?

Dont care if he didn't need sticking up or not. You dont just let two senior blokes mouth off to Young Jack regardless how tough he is.

What happened to the old saying sticking up for your mates?

Mouthing off? Yeah, I think it's acceptable.

Sticks and stones, mate...

From someone who watched it first hand, can i say Viney was more than capable of handling it. He laughed it off, verbally gave as good back (although i didn't hear what he said), shook his head and walked away to shake another hand.

I assume this stemmed from the sly lil' elbows Viney throws at players when he is buried beneath the packs. Saw him give Selwood a couple of rippers in that game.

What a shame that 21 of our other plays didn't play with the same fire that day.

Anyone got any info on how the big fella is traveling?

I thought I remember reading that he'd potentially be okay to have a bit of a run with Casey after the bye?

Or is that Misson bloke playing funny buggers again..

Hey Steve,

Just watched Roosey's press conference on the MFC site and he mentioned that Hogan joined training today. Also did mention that if Jesse really wants to play this year then he would. Have a listen if have a chance :)

The only people in danger were Mackie and Selwood. They are lucky Jack didn't axe kick them in two.

I heard Viney was bitten by a king cobra, but after five days of agonising pain, the cobra finally died.

Lol - Jack Viney isn't hung like a horse, horses are hung like Jack

Jack.

Roosy's presser today he said the players got a real boost seeing Hogan join in the training session yesterday. "I mean, we even saw in one session what we've missed this year, he was terrific."

Really looking forward to seeing him play, this year or 2015.

Did you know Jack Viney actually has an acting career, turns out he actually starred in all of the Star wars movie, he played the role of - the force

Jesse is set to make his comeback to footy this weekend via Casey

Good luck Jesse

Great news! Hopefully, two games at Casey, and then his AFL debut in the final round...

Something else apart from Big Max's form to get a little excited about.

Anyone know if it happens to be televised off the top of their head?

Can't be bothered looking it up.

But can be bothered coming back and checking demonland to see if someone posted it..

In fact I could have just looked it up in the time it took me to write this.

Cool.

I think he will play in Perth if he gets through this week. They will set him up to play away from the hype in Melbourne, good move.

maybe he will play in the ones before the seasons up.
toump is set to play in the vfl this week also. is good

Anyone know if it happens to be televised off the top of their head?

No they only show the saturday 1pm game on ch 2.

One could do a double header on Sunday. Drive to Cragieburn, watch Jesse in action for an 11am game and then drive back to East Melbourne in time for the Petracca cup.

my info is that Jesse will make his debut against West Coast infront of his family if he gets through this game okay.

Roos and Mission basically told him he could play this week but strongly encouraged him to have a week at Casey first

He's essentially been ready to play for a couple of weeks but the club is not willing to take any chances

While I feel a bit ripped off that we won't get to see him debut at the G, I think it's a nice idea for him to debut in front of family and away from the hype

SO excited. Hopefully they put the replay of the Casey game on the website for us to watch.

Should make for greater viewing that the GWS game!

Yeah, I think that it was partly Jesse's idea to do things this way, he is giving himself every chance to come in on top of his game and show everyone why there is so much Hype

I was told Jesse has some fairly old family members who wouldn't have been able to make the trip so debuting in Perth means they can make it along which I think is pretty special, great of the club to facilitate things this way for Jesse

We should do the opposite of what we did with Watts

The Perth debut makes a lot of sense for Jesse. All I wish was WCE hadn't found such good form at the end of season. They were thoroughly average after the first 3 rounds for the most of the year and could've been beatable. Now, all that stands between them and finals could be us.

  • PREVIEW: Sydney

The two teams competing at the MCG on Sunday afternoon have each traversed a long and arduous path since their previous encounter on a sweltering March evening in Sydney a season and a half ago. Both experienced periods of success at various times last year. The Demons ran out of steam in midseason while the Swans went on to narrowly miss the ultimate prize in the sport. Now, they find themselves outside of finals contention as the season approaches the halfway mark. The winner this week will remain in contact with the leading pack, while the loser may well find itself on a precipice, staring into the abyss. The current season has presented numerous challenges for most clubs, particularly those positioned in the middle tier. The Essendon experience in suffering a significant 91-point loss to the Bulldogs, just one week after defeating the Swans, may not be typical, but it illustrates the unpredictability of outcomes under the league’s present set up.

  • REPORT: Brisbane

“Max Gawn has been the heart and soul of the Dees for years now, but this recent recovery from a terrible start has been driven by him. He was everywhere again, and with the game in the balance, he took several key marks to keep the ball in the Dees forward half.” - The Monday Knee Jerk Reaction: Round Ten Of course, it wasn’t the efforts of one man that caused this monumental upset, but rather the work of the coach and his assistants and the other 22 players who took the ground, notably the likes of Jake Melksham, Christian Petracca, Clayton Oliver and Kozzie Pickett but Max has been magnificent in taking ownership of his team and its welfare under the fire of a calamitous 0-5 start to the season. On Sunday, he provided the leadership that was needed to face up to the reigning premier and top of the ladder Brisbane Lions on their home turf and to prevail after a slow start, during which the hosts led by as much as 24 points in the second quarter. Titus O’Reily is normally comedic in his descriptions of the football but this time, he was being deadly serious. The Demons have come from a long way back and, although they still sit in the bottom third of the AFL pack, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel as they look to drive home the momentum inspired in the past four or five weeks by Max the Magnificent who was under such great pressure in those dark, early days of the season.

  • CASEY: Southport

The Southport Sharks came to Casey. They saw and they conquered a team with 16 AFL-listed players who, for the most part, wasted their time on the ground and failed to earn their keep. For the first half, the Sharks were kept in the game by the Demons’ poor use of the football, it’s disposal getting worse the closer the team got to its own goal and moreover, it got worse as the game progressed. Make no mistake, Casey was far and away the better team in the first half, it was winning the ruck duels through Tom Campbell’s solid performance but it was the scoreboard that told the story.

  • PREGAME: Sydney

Just a game and percentage outside the Top 8, the Demons return to Melbourne to face the Sydney Swans at the MCG, with a golden opportunity to build on the momentum from toppling the reigning premiers on their own turf. Who comes in, and who makes way?
