Jordie McKenzie

Hey guys,

Just wondering how far people think McKenzie is to getting a chance in senior side? I hear his games in the VFL have been pretty good for a while now. If he was to come in who would you want to be dropped?

I would like to see him play a senior game this season, he put his body on the line and does the 1%ers.

I can't think if a player he should replace though.

He played a half for Casey so he could play tomorrow if someone is a late withdrawal.

Will be delisted at years end and picked up by richmond they seem to like other teams duds

Agreed. I can't think of who he would replace.

As we all know, his effort is never questioned.

But now we have a midfield of players who's efforts match that of McKenzie's and a footballing ability that surpasses his also.

So unfortunately for him, (but fortunately for our club) he is being squeezed out.

Bring back Tom gillies

Jordie is probably next in line for a senior call-up at the moment. He's been getting heaps of ball at Casey and the reports from those games say he's doing well in improving his weaknesses. Add to that his ownership of the coaches award for the past few years and he looks pretty likely. Coaches love him because of his work ethic and willingness to take instruction.

The above applies also to those who think he will be de-listed. Not a chance. As I said, coaches love him. I've also pointed out in another thread that Cross is currently doing Jordie's job in the senior side, but he's only here for a couple of years. If Jordie can get his disposal up to Cross' level then he'll be set. He doesn't have to be as good a kick as Watts or Salem, just reliable with his disposal to go along with his high workrate and ability to get his hands on the ball and negate an opponent.

They seem to have a particular penchant for our duds.

That's because Craig Cameron is their recruiter.

I'm starting to think you don't know much after your Yze blunder and now this.

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.

  • NON-MFC: Round 09

Round 9 kicks off out west with the Dockers hosting a Collingwood side resting several stars. Fremantle need to make a statement on their home deck after some disappointing form on the road, while the Magpies will be keen to maintain their Top 2 position. Friday night sees a must-win clash between two sides desperate to stay in touch with the eight. St Kilda have shown glimpses while Carlton are clinging to relevance after a flat start to the season. Saturday’s twilight game at Marvel pits the Bombers against a struggling Sydney outfit. Essendon can’t afford another close match against a lower-ranked side, while the Swans risk sliding down the ladder even further. Up in Darwin, the fourth-placed Suns will look to extend their stay in the top four. The Bulldogs have hit their stride with three big wins on the trot and will be very keen to consolidate on their momentum. The always fiery Showdown looms as pivotal for both clubs. Adelaide are eyeing a spot in the Top 4 with a win, while Port Adelaide’s season could slip away if they drop another game and fall further behind the pack. Sunday begins with a yawn fest between Richmond and West Coast. The Tigers need to bank the points to stay clear of the bottom two, while the Eagles are still chasing their first win of the year. The Giants face one of the league’s toughest road trips as they travel to GMHBA Stadium to face the Cats. With GWS at risk of a third straight loss, Geelong will be eager to consolidate their position inside the eight and start their climb up the ladder. The round wraps up with the top-of-the-table Lions heading to Ninja Stadium to take on the second-last Roos. The Lions should easily take care of the struggling Roos who might be powerless against the best in the comp. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?
