It wasn't complex. Much like your good self.

Give the [censored] act a rest, fella. Ben Hur did it first, and he at least made it entertaining.

Come on... You asked for it.

Supposedly was one who tried to round up players to ignore any suggestions of tanking.....

just sayin

Good on him in that case.

But I'd agree with the quoted sentiment in regards to on-field leadership.

Always seemed more focused on trying to niggle the opposition.

Glad you were able to understand it.

You were bullied at school weren't you?

Not properly- there is still an heir of confidence that needs crushing.

Because he looks like Salem or because he wore number 3?

They should have got Clint Bizzell to present it!

Ahh because Garry Lyon was a former Melbourne champion player that wore number 3.. *facepalm*

A real leader would've dug his heels in and forced a change in culture. He's a pathetic sell-out.

Lets hope a rival company doesn't offer you twice your worth and double the normal contract as I am sure you would stay put.

Yes we were a rabble but $6m over 6 years! FFS let it go. He is gone.

This comment is why we are the laughing stock of the AFL.

Now you do understand that it is joke between a couple of guys who take the Mickey out of each other don't you Sambo06?

But how a crass joke makes us the laughing stock of the AFL I am not sure.

I think quite a few management people and a lot of poor players have achieved that result.

Don't believe a poor joke by Bbo has much to do with it.

I have to say I was impressed with his build on the weekend. For months I've heard that he was slightly built and would take a long time to get his body up to scratch. He looks a lot bigger than I expected. Add to that that his skills appear to be every bit as good as advertised and he's a lot harder at the ball than expected and I'm pretty damn happy.

I did think he would be knocked around a bit easier, he appeared relatively sturdy eh

All this time I thought it was a perpetually crap footy side, inept management, poor crowd numbers..

And all along, it was BBO's jokes that made us a laughing stock. How did I not see it before?

Am I drunk or did this thread go off the rails a few pages ago?

Rails, what rails?

Doesn't every thread?

I prefer to call them a collection of ideas tenuously connected...as it should be. Bloody Jack Watts.

Yes I blame him

I look at the situation in the Ukraine and I can't help but think that if he had a bit more intestinal fortitude there wouldn't be a problem. Don't get me started on the deficit.

Is there any thing he is not involved in?

I wish I could answer no old dee. I cannot.

Incorrect Sambo06 - we have been the laughing stock of the AFL long long before 29 Apr 2014 - 7:17 PM, which is when Bbo posted his comment, so clearly that comment is NOT why we are the laughing stock.

Forget the haunting of Round 11 — we’ve got this. Melbourne returns to its inner-city fortress for its milestone 100th AFLW match, carrying a formidable 10–2 record at IKON Stadium. Brisbane’s record at the venue is more balanced: 4 wins, 4 losses and a draw.

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
