From the melbournefc.com website - training tomorrow is at Casey Fields from 9.30am which makes it Paul Roos' first venture down to our outer suburban training facility.

More history being made at the Melbourne Football Club

No open training session on Friday so the new boys from the draft will be welcomed at the Paddock on Monday.

I would have thought Roos, Jackson and the Recruiters would already be on the Gold Coast today?

Unless he flies out afterwards of course

I'm sure the recruiting staff is already up there. Plenty of time for the coach to fly up this arvo and go throught the motions... I reckon all scenario's up to and around pick 9 have been done to death by now and there won't be much left to do...

Tough choice. Basically Tyson, Hogan and pick 9 all need to end up better players then Josh Kelly otherwise demonland will go into meltdown.

Went down for a look. Quite a few players stayed inside (or I assumed they did).

Absent from the outside stuff were Clark, Toumpas, Watts, Jamar, Dawes, Tapscott, Barry, Kent, Clisby, Brynes, Blease

Frawley, Terlich, Gawn joined in stages. Viney did 95% as did Hogan and Michie

Spencer and McDonald did laps

Tyson and Garland did lap after lap running. Tyson pulled away from Garland on every lap so I reckon he ain't far away from full training

Bail, Grimes, Vince, Cross, Dunn & Jetta broke away and did some timed lap running that was exhausting. Bail led them from Cross, Grimes, Vince Dunn & Jetta

Strauss run laps on his own

Nicholson did a very small amount of training

Roos and all the coaching staff were in the middle.

Solid session from where I sat went about 1and 1/2 hours if they started at 9.30am

I popped down for the last hour or so but have little extra to add to demonwithin's wrap up.

Compared to last pre season Roos is far more "hands on" involved than Neeld was, and will show players what he wants by pulling them aside and physically showing them how he wants things done, saw him do this on a couple of occasions with Fitzy, who was making mid fielders kicks look poor through bad leads. He pulled him aside, showed him what he was doing wrong and then explained what he wanted, which Fitzy then put into action.

Also noted when Gawn and Spencer were doing laps how much Max has filled out, still not the finished article but has certainly put on some size and will benefit greatly if he can complete a full pre season.

Loving what I was seeing and it also looked and sounded like the players are enjoying what the new regime have brought to the table.

Don't know what this will equate to in wins but I expect a reasonable upswing in our on field endeavours.

Happy to answer any queries if I can.

Probably not the best place to be for Jetta to finish, assuming he wants to be re-drafted or drafted by another club.

I originally thought the same thing but watching him he was giving it everything and not everyone can be running machines. We have had many blokes that run like the wind in pre season and can't get the pill when it matters.

Jetta can't get the pill either. It was mentioned at training today that he will be rookie listed should no other club take him first.

His training mirrors his in field performances so I hope another club selects him first.

Right now that's all I hope for. Everything over that will be a bonus.

Thanks for the reports all.

Summed up perfectly Theo. He adds no value to our list at all and would much rather an 18 year old spec pick rather than a never will be.

Running would be the one thing he really could have improved at over the off season by continuing training in his break to prove his determination to stay on the list.

I personally hope Jetta gets game, kicks ass and gets back on the list.

That's just me-supporting guys who have done nothing bad by the club and have had a crack.

His skills are good and his hands are very good.

He is quick with the ball and can tackle.

We have several talls so will need some little guys.

Go Nev-take your shot.

I hope all our players kick butt Biffen but can you honestly see nev doing this? I can't recall him ever doing it before, in fact I can't recall him ever kicking multiple goals or getting over twenty touches. Not saying he hasn't but I cant remember many highlights. I'd rather Bennell or Bartram back anyday.

He is well down the pecking order I feel and maybe its due to being continually let down that I'm sick of my team carrying dead weight.

Edit - my disclaimer. I forgot to mention I thought Bennell was useless and soft as butter also but thought he added more than Nev

I suggest you watch the Darwin game from a couple of years back, He dominated. I have a soft for players that have a crack like Nifty did.

Neville was unfit compared to other players because he has had a horrible run with injuries his whole career and hasn't had a chance to build a base fitness level yet. I hope he makes, always has a crack, which is more than you can sy for a lot of the bokes who played for us this year.

I understand soft spots for players in fact I have always had one for Tappy but I now think if he doesn't show at least 5 good games this year he will be out as well.

Back on to Nev but, you are hardly selling him to me when asking me to watch one game 'a couple years back'

And as for injuries and lack of pre seasons he has still played at least 30 games (i think) which is a lot of opportunities to show something more than just one game

I think you underestimate the appalling impact Neeld had on the players. Some of the stories I've heard beggar belief.

I've never been a huge rap but he gives it a real go, has had terrible injuries amd has never stopped trying.

I can't see we are worse off with him on our list than with some pick 80 or so from a weak draft pool. I wish him well.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
